The DECR, in partnership with Expertise France, Green Overseas, the European Union, and Insight Decision, is inviting residents across the Turks and Caicos Islands to participate in a nationwide Public Climate Survey as part of the development of the country’s climate change planning and resilience initiatives.
Climate change is already affecting communities throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands through stronger storms, coastal erosion, flooding, rising temperatures, water scarcity, and changing weather patterns. Understanding how these changes impact people’s daily lives is essential to developing practical, community-driven solutions that strengthen the country’s resilience.

The survey:
✅Takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.
✅Is completely anonymous.
✅Is open to all residents of the Turks and Caicos Islands.

Residents can participate by scanning the QR code displayed on official DECR promotional materials.

Your voice matters. Together, we can build a stronger, safer, and more climate-resilient Turks and Caicos Islands.

Thanks to funding from @darwin.plus the DECR, in collaboration with the @ecgyouthcentre , is working on a fun project : ‘Nature’s Palette - Celebrating Biodiversity through Art’.

Under the guidance of @io.akiles students are sculpting pieces to be viewed in public spaces - art pieces that speak to importance of biodiversity, conservation and environmental stewardship. Our first piece ‘Jewel of the Sea’ honours our marine environment and brings awareness to the introduction of domestic animals - often neglected, they are a threat to indigenous species, but deserve protecting of their own.

Keep your eyes peeled for more sculptures to join Jewel of the Sea very soon! 👀 💎

‼️ PLEASE FLIP YOUR PHONE TO WATCH

We’ll be talking to Dr. Matej Lipar about how understanding the complex history of karst formations in Quaternary aeolianite preserve records of past climates, why dating them is so tricky, and how he’s using cutting-edge Uranium-Thorium-Helium techniques to unlock their secrets. From Australia to the Bahamas, his fieldwork is rewriting the timeline of Earth’s environmental history.

Happy Earth Day 🌎

On Tuesday, April 15th, 2025, our local island community came together to replace the buoy line surrounding the Bight Reef, just off the shore of Andaz Turks & Caicos.

⛔️ This protective swim circle marks a coral recovery zone, designed to keep snorkelers and swimmers at a safe distance—allowing the reef to regenerate without disturbance.

A huge thank you to the volunteers from @tcreef_fund, @poseidonturks, @decrti, @nu.imagephotography, @diveprovo and @andaztcresidences for helping safeguard this vital ecosystem for years to come!

Every day is Earth Day when you live in a delicate paradise like the Turks and Caicos Islands. 🏝️

We hope to inspire other businesses—big and small—to get involved and do their part.

Team DECR has joined in the training, for various Departments, to mitigate against a serious environmental disaster should an oil spill occur in TCI. Here you see attendees participating in oil spill drills, putting into practice what they have been learning this week!

Let’s hope it would never be necessary to employ this actions!

🪸✨ Coral Rescue Mission: Part 2 🪸✨

🌟 let’s dive in deeper into the recent rescue mission with TC Reef. On Friday, January 31st, a super yacht dropped their anchor on a dive site at Northwest Point. Our team has been working with the @decr to assess the damage, stabilize and rescue.⚓🚫

After collecting broken corals from the damage zone it’s time to give these beauties a fighting chance! 💪💙

📏🤿Watch as we carefully measure, photograph, and tag each coral before placing them in our temporary nursery table. This crucial step helps us monitor their recovery and growth as they prepare for their future home in the reef! 🐠🪸💪💪🏻💪🏼💪🏽💪🏾💪🏿

Stay tuned for more updates, subscribe to our newsletter and thank you for your support! 🙌

The DECR has had the privilege of attending the Enid Capron Primary School’s career day for 10 YEARS! What an incredible opportunity to speak to our young people about what we do, how they can do it, and what subjects are best to choose for a career in enforcement, science, education or social studies! Thanks for inviting us again this year ECPS!
