Trust has been one of the deepest forms of work I have done — in business and in life. It started with learning to trust myself. My discernment. My instincts about who should be in the room and what they should have access to. When I launched my first brick and mortar I was not good at that. I gave access to people I should not have, in ways I should not have, and the impact of that went far beyond the business. It created a wound that required real, intentional work to heal. That wound showed up everywhere. Not just in business. In love. In friendship. In how long it took me to let people in and how carefully I moved once I did. If I am being honest it is something I am still navigating. Still learning. But this season of @ourhouse.48th is a direct reflection of all of that work. Because right now I am surrounded by a team that genuinely believes in this mission. People who show up because they want to be here. Who trust me deeply, who value what I bring, and who are not afraid to say that out loud. People I resonate with in ways that feel like alignment, not just convenience. That does not happen by accident. It happens because I did the work to become someone who could hold it. Cheers to this next season. And a massive thank you to @iloveyoujurnee — for helping me ascend into this next milestone and for holding Our House while I go build what is coming next.

It took me 10 years to get here. The journey really began in 2016 with one decision — to learn to love myself. Fully. Deeply. Without conditions. I had no idea at the time that that single commitment would become the foundation for everything that followed. Ten years later I am sitting in a place of deep exhale. I look back at who I was and I genuinely cannot believe the girl I became. Through the highs and the lows. The doubts. The sacrifices. The losses. The mistakes made publicly. The regrets. The moments I chose myself when it made no sense to anybody watching — and the moments I still choose myself even now when it still does not make sense to everybody watching. I took full authority over my own life. Curated this reality brick by brick, layer by layer, every stone intentional. And I continue to show up with that same intentionality every single day to protect and cultivate what has been built. But the thing that really hit me recently — the thing that stopped me in my own tracks… I have nothing left to prove to even myself. Do you understand how that feels? To have pushed yourself so hard for so long and then one day realize that you have actually become the person you set out to become? That the work worked and is still working. I became HER. I really fucking became her.

I have been so locked in building @ourhouse.48th from the ground up that I genuinely have not had the capacity to just show up online and speak. Not in a polished, calculated, brand-strategy kind of way. Just — speak. Like a person. About the things I am actually thinking about. But Our House has taken flight. And with that comes a little more breathing room. A little more capacity to exist in the digital space the way I actually want to — which if you know me, you know this is genuinely one of my favorite places to be. So you are going to be seeing a lot more of this. Unfiltered. Off the cuff. Real thoughts from someone who has been building in real life and has accumulated some opinions along the way. Stop. Pause. THINK. Your mind is one of the most powerful tools you have. And the more you experience — the more you live, the more you lose, the more you build, the more you survive — the more data gets stored inside of it. Whether you are conscious enough to recognize it or not. Whether you have processed it or not. It is in there. All of it. Available to you. The problem is most people never slow down long enough to access it. The moment a problem appears, the instinct is to move. Immediately. Reactively. Almost reflexively — like stillness in the face of a problem is somehow irresponsible. So people rush into fixing before they have fully looked at the thing. And they end up creating more mess, more stress, more confusion — because they skipped the most important step. Sit down. Recalibrate. Think about the thing. Look at it from its fullness. Remove yourself emotionally long enough to actually observe what is happening without the filter of your feelings distorting what you see. Give yourself honest access to the situation so you can devise a real plan — not a reaction dressed up as a strategy. You have everything you need to solve whatever is being presented to you. You have always had it. The answers are in the data your life has already given you. But you have to be still enough, and honest enough, and patient enough to go in and get them. We have really lost the art of thinking. Pick up a book. Read something. Sit with an idea long enough for it to actually teach you something. Give your mind the respect it deserves — because it has been working for you this whole time whether you noticed or not. The least you can do is use it. 🖤

Be honest. You don’t get moments like this often. Phone on do not disturb. Nobody reaching for you to be held. No space to hold, no problem to solve, no version of yourself that needs to show up for anyone or anything but this exact moment. It always takes you longer than you want to admit to settle into this kind of stillness. Your drive is loud. It calls for your attention several times before it quiets — and it only quiets after you remind it, again, that this pause is not a detour. It is the fuel. It is part of the work. It has always been part of the work. A few hours on this patio is enough. More than enough actually. You have been reflecting lately on how far you have come. And you are proud of yourself. Not the performative kind of proud that you say out loud for other people. The deep, quiet, private kind. The kind that lives in the chest. The kind that does not need an audience. You are so deeply in love with yourself. Grateful to be here. Grateful to be her. Something is coming. You cannot fully make out what it is yet — but you feel it. You have been cultivating the soil for it. Laying the bricks. Securing the foundation. Moving in ways that only make sense to someone who can feel what has not yet arrived. Be patient. Keep going. Trust what you cannot yet see. Blessed. Truly. Undeniably. Blessed.
