Yes the rumors are true! Our grease trap has been sinking for some time now ☹️. Which has cause a lot of flooding into our restaurant. Our bathrooms became unusable and our drains would over flow every time it rained … It’s been a struggle but we are getting through it!…. Finally some work is getting done to it. But that means we will be closed for a few more days. 🙏 please come by when we are open again! Base case scenario we will be open Thursday 7/23! Our apologies for all the cancellation we have been doing because of this and can’t wait to see ever again! We are open Monday 7/20!!!!!! @thirdplacehtx cafe & Jūn will be closed Tuesday & Wednesday 7/21-22 and will be reopen on Thursday 7/23 🤞 #smallbusiness

🤘713 day! A month ago we started our journey to Chicago not knowing we would come back as @beardfoundation winners 🥹. “A city of hopes and dream” and we continue to celebrate all things Houston. JŪN is here… and it’s time to reflect on what it all means! We wanted to name the restaurant JŪN to honor the special women in our lives. JŪN is the birth month of our very own @chefevelyngarcia her mom and @chefhenrylu sister! All these women have played such a big part in our lives. They are the reason why we have a restaurant today! We always described JŪN as a novel and as each year passes a new chapter begins. Our first year we explored our family roots & upbringing, an immigrants story and how it all blends together to be the America we understand it as. Our food explores all those stories and blurring boundaries and blending both our culture together. You ask us what JUN is, it’s our American food. Through our unwavering commitment to our craft, we were gifted with a platform that reaches beyond this great city of Houston. We opened up Third Place to share our space with chefs, artist & makers so that they can have a home away from home. In this chapter of JŪN, we are so proud of the community we created with Third Place! This year has been the year of sharing Houston story with the world! The best way to celebrate is with your community! Special happy birthday to Chef Evelyn Garcia! One of the most fearless human beings we know. She fights for what she believes in and doesn’t allow anyone to get in her way. She’s a champion and voice for people who needs it and doesn’t shy away from it. A board member of @ihwsh_tx and @nokidhungryhou she fights these battles in and out the kitchen! She’s made a name for herself in an industry that wasn’t the kindest to women chefs.
