Thank you to Steve my father in law for accommodating me and joining in on the fun for this project!

A couple months ago I harvested this massive Gourd that was grown in the garden. It’s been drying in a cool dry room for about 5-6 months and today I decided to put it to use, by turning it into a Mansion for Wrens.

Join me and make your own. Here’s what you’ll need:

• A Gourd with a 6”-12” diameter
• @makitauk electric sander
• 240 grade sandpaper
• @makitauk Drill
• 6mm drill bit
• 1” Hole Dozer Bit
• Face mask
• Scraper
• Wire for hanging
• @ronseal.uk Crystal Clear outdoor varnish
• Scrub sponge and a dry cloth

Wash and dry the gourd, and use the scraper to remove any peeling skin.

Put on your disk mask and sand the entire gourd with 240 grade sand paper and wipe with a dry cloth after sanding.

Use your drill, fitted with the 6mm drill bit to drill 4 holes at the bottom of your gourd for drainage. Then drill two holes at the top of the gourd for your wire hanger. Position it so you can see the birdhouse entrance when it’s hanging.

With the @makita 1” hole dozer bit, drill a hole in the centre of the gourd about 3/4 way up from the bottom of the gourd.
You can sand the holes and wipe the gourd again to remove any dust, but I didn’t bother too.

Start tipping out some of the seeds from inside the hours onto a sheet of parchment paper to dry and add to your seed bank to grow on next year. Leave the rest of seeds inside as a house warming gift for the Wrens to use. 🥰🏡

In a dry airy place, apply 3 coats of your @ronseal crystal clear varnish allowing the required time between coats. Clip the stem off the top of the gourd.

Once dry, insert the wire piece through the holes, twist ends together and your gourd is officially ready and waiting for a lovely Wren family to move in next Spring!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of learning how to make crepe paper poppies with family, in the memory of a late family member who loved poppies.

This wonderful workshop was led by the very talented @floragami.paperflower and her workshop is filled with all sorts of gorgeous paper made flowers.

Her kits are available for sale to make at home as well, so you can create your perfect bouquet!

This was so therapeutic and fun to do 🥰🌸 #papermache #origami #crepepaperflowers #florigami #floralarrangement

Ok so I‘ve never vibed with celery for most of my life, but now it’s become my morning ritual. I know that sounds crazy, but hear me out. The health benefits are REAL !

From crushing my acid reflux to supercharging my immunity and at this point, I swear it’s had something to do with reducing my hay fever as well 😂.

Celery juice offers a range of health benefits that can make a real difference in your well-being.

It’s known for supporting liver health, controlling harmful bacteria, and enhancing your digestive system too. I mean listen to how good it sounds.

If you’re looking to improve your overall health, consider incorporating organic celery juice into your life. Once you get over the taste, you’ll be all over it. 💁🏽‍♀️

October’s mystical allure beckons! Amidst the fallen leaves, ethically foraging for mushrooms can be a treasure hunt for the soul. 🍂🍁 But remember, sometimes it’s enough to pause, admire nature’s intricate designs, and let the fungi weave their enchanting stories from a distance. 🌿💫 #mushroommagic

Our bodies are like water balloons!💧Two-thirds of you is water, and it’s crucial for many things:
Nutrient Delivery: It carries the good stuff.
Toxin Flush: Cleanses your insides.
Circulation & Pressure: Keeps blood flowing.
Organ Function: Makes organs happy.
Energy Booster: Gives you a boost.

But here’s the twist. Not enough water = trouble. Dehydration means headaches, fatigue, stiffness, and even brain fog. It messes with digestion and weight loss.

Want one of my solutions? Diatomaceous Earth (DE)!

Diatomaceous Earth (DE) is mainly silicon dioxide, a natural substance from old lake beds. It’s fossilised diatoms microscopic water plants that feed marine life. DE is 89-95% silica and packs 15 essential minerals like calcium and zinc, helping you stay truly hydrated.

DE helps with:
Regular Digestion
Weight Management
Joint Health
Healthy Cholesterol

Drink up and consider DE for a happier, hydrated you!

Pro Tip: Take DE on an empty stomach. Start small with a teaspoon in 12 oz of liquid. Mix well and gulp it down. If you don’t like the chalky texture, try it with tastier drinks like milk, OJ, tea, or smoothies.
