Some moments in travel stay with you longer than the journey itself. Raulane was one of those moments. In the quiet village of Kalpa, beneath the peaks of Kinnaur Kailash, the temple courtyard slowly filled with people. Then the drums began. Masked dancers stepped forward, their faces hidden beneath layers of wool, ornaments and sacred cloth, moving to rhythms that have echoed through these mountains for generations. Locals believe the rituals honour the mountain fairies and the deities who protect the valley. Standing there, watching it unfold, it didn’t feel like a show or a performance. Just a tradition still living in the mountains, carried quietly by the people of Kinnaur. About Murari Devi Temple : Situated in the Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh, Murari Devi Temple is a temple built to Goddess Murari, a form of Durga devi.
