Proud to reflect on the launch of ‘The Big Smash’ a collaboration between @joeandthejuice and @k1ngkyrg1os where Future Plate creative and our culinary arm came together along with some trusted partners to execute the launch of the shake in style. We worked closely with our clients @hanakuma and @thisisevolve, got the creative juices flowing with the @joeandthejuice team in their office in London to bring fine dining and impeccable service to who’s who of the tennis world & beyond. From menu design by our head chef @william_chilila supported by @chef_opy to designing the menu, deciding what paper it should be printed on, the thickness, what the finish should look like, to the draping of the marquee and of course the stunning S table, worthy of being the centre piece that it was, finished off with tablescape like no other. Everything was carefully imagined and expertly executed. Thank you to everyone involved. This was a moment. We always create magic @kacyswain @arvindpitchai 👌🏾 #wemove

Introducing Future Plate event production! We’ve been doing this for a while behind the scenes, worked on many projects and now thrilled to start showcasing our creative flair beyond the plate. Where better to start than with the unveiling of @arynasabalenka as the global ambassador of @im8health What a joy it was to help bring this to life, working with small independent trusted suppliers and partners to produce something on an epic scale. Thank you to the amazing team at @hanakuma & @thisisevolve for always trusting us to deliver. Our ride or die florist/tablescape extraordinaire @floralevolution The immensely talented @myinkyjournal for adding that personal touch through her craft, @private_mixologist for creating some next level mocktails with the IM8 product & @djcassuk for bringing the vibes on the decks. A room full of people I love and who, undoubtedly and demonstrably, love me. A year ago today, I asked my friends to leave their wallets at home and join me for Tasting the Night: a token of gratitude to those who supported me in uncountable ways during the long journey of taking Chasing the Night from page to screen. (I should add, in true cheeky Abe fashion, I told all my friends they had to bring me either a lottery ticket or scratchcard of any value or they’d be denied admission 🤪) Whether it was answering random questions about perfume, providing me somewhere more convenient to stay during rehearsals and production, constantly checking in on me and the many other ways, every single person present (including some extras who weren’t able to attend) poured into me throughout the process in ways that meant the world to me. This night quite literally would not have been possible without @chefsignatures @the_futureplate who out of the blue contacted me at the top of 2023 with a desire to mark the occasion and celebrate my new film when apt. To this, I had one condition: that as long as I was in sole control of who would be invited. In a speech that I might one day share in full (which means also sharing visual evidence of the tears of joy 🥲), I spoke of the indirect collaborators in filmmaking: the ones who support and surround you with love you need outside of the process. I’m so thankful I was able to honour those people on that night, see them all looking so beautiful in black and gold and, most importantly, enjoying each other’s company. I tried to put everyone next to someone they didn’t really know because there’s nothing more I love than seeing my people (platonically) fall in love with each other. Lastly, thank you to @william_chilila for the thoughtful Chasing the Night-inspired menu, @spearheadspirits for powering us through the night, @octobergallery for hosting and 🎥 @tbvproductions for so beautifully capturing the night ❤️ #Food #Film #Friends #ChasingTheNight #Celebration #BlackAndGold #TearsOfJoy #Unforgettable

Looking back to our launch video back in 2021! Crazy to think we are just over 2 years old and so much has happened since then. We are now in the process of shooting new content, restructuring, forming new partnerships but sill steadfast in our mission to showcase and celebrate Black chefs & African & Caribbean cuisine and culture. It’s the boy @william_chilila and THAT dish! “Food is my way of telling stories personal to me, giving the world an insight into who I am, my culture, heritage and hopes for the future.
