“We are the ones we have been waiting for.” - June Jordan. In a time marked by intensifying repression and attacks on our rights, Black feminists gathering is an act of joy, and that joy is an act of resistance. Marking our fifth anniversary in London, we gathered to celebrate the movements and leaders building Black feminist worlds. We reflected on a truth that history has always shown us: every movement we celebrate was sustained not only by organizers, but by people who gave, cared, and believed. June Jordan’s words are an invitation to align our resources, creativity, and relationships with the movements building the free and just worlds we all deserve.  Building Black feminist worlds is collective work, and celebrating this milestone together reminded us of the power of community and joy to sustain us through it. @ukblackchefsnetwork had the pleasure of being part of a truly special event at @binghamriverhouse — a beautiful Black woman-owned boutique hotel, bar and restaurant. Hosted for the @blackfeministfund , the event was catered by @the_futureplate and @chishuru , with the kitchen led by our very own Michelin-starred Chef @jokebakare . Guests enjoyed incredible canapés by @chef_opy , followed by a thoughtfully curated three-course West African fine dining menu. It was an amazing experience working alongside such a talented team of chefs. We collaborated seamlessly, shared knowledge, discovered new West African flavours and techniques, and created something truly memorable together. Opportunities like this are a reminder of the power of representation, collaboration and excellence within our industry. A rare moment where we actually stood still long enough for a photo. A huge shout out to Alex and Alan for another brilliant shift. This is only a tiny snapshot of the incredible team behind @private_mixologist. Most of the crew were already back to work before I could even round them up. Also, before anyone comments… I’m not actually that short. When Ghana came to Poland 🇬🇭🇵🇱 This May felt like a moment for the history books. By combining art, business and philanthropy, by recognising that the future lies beyond the power structures of the past, @omenaamensah & @rbrzoska are building something extraordinary. They have galvanised an international community of changemakers, redefining global leadership with creativity at its core. The result: over 238 partner projects across the world with over 1.8 million beneficiaries. I’m very grateful to have been featured in the June issue of @lancashirelifemag talking about my ceramics and working with some amazing Chefs. It’s been an incredible journey over the past few years making the move from being a Tv producer to making plates, but one I’ve thoroughly enjoyed (and hope will continue for a long time).
