Sorrow and joy can exist at the same time. To a world that doesn’t know God, this sounds impossible. To those that have tasted and have seen that indeed He is good (Psalm 34:8), we know that until Heaven, we will suffer. However, as we are sorrowful, we are always rejoicing because of the hope we have in Christ alone. We do not grieve without hope. We have a God that understands suffering entirely because Jesus Himself became a Man of sorrows, lived a perfect life we could not live, and died a death He didn’t deserve so that He may set free those that are in bondage to sin (Isaiah 53:3). I long for Heaven in a way I haven’t before this miscarriage and I look forward to the day He will “wipe every every tear from our eyes…” (Revelation 21:4) and we will see Him face to face. Praising His name for life, praising His name in death. Praising His name in joy, praising His name in sorrow. He is worthy of all praise, all honor, all glory. He is King, Lord, Father, Comforter, Creator, El Roi. He sees when no one does, He comforts when no comfort is found. “I don’t need theology; I just need to know Jesus.” Theology is unavoidable for every Christian. It is our attempt to understand the truth that God has revealed to us—something every Christian does. So it is not a question of whether we are going to engage in theology; it is a question of whether our theology is sound or unsound. It is important to study and learn because God has taken great pains to reveal Himself to His people. He gave us a book, one that is not meant to sit on a shelf pressing dried flowers, but to be read, searched, digested, studied, and chiefly to be understood. An important text in the writings of the Apostle Paul is found in his second letter to Timothy: “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work” (2 Tim. 3:16–17). That text should put an end to claims that we do not need doctrine or that doctrine has no value. There is profit from a careful study of the Bible. Because the Bible is inspired by almighty God, it gives us a valuable and profitable asset, and that asset is doctrine. #thegracescripts #theologymatters #womenoftheword

We have to learn how to properly measure success. What is success at the end of the day?It’s faithfulness. Success is not, “Did everything go the way I wanted it to?” Its, “Was I faithful to the Lord today?” We can have great circumstances and have a very unfaithful day. On the other hand, we can have horrible Job-like days and still be able to give a good answer to the Lord, and that is our goal. Was your day successful? #thegracescripts #measuresuccess

Jesus paid it all on the cross. There is nothing left to be paid. It’s by Christ’s meritorious life and His substitutionary death that we can stand in the presence of a holy God. Without Christ, we would be without hope, because all we can carry to God is our unjustness. Because of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice, if we are believers, the Lord looks at us and sees not our unworthiness, but Christ. If you confess your sins to him, and ask for mercy on the basis of His death on the cross and not any of your “good” deeds you can be sure that you are justified. God has canceled your debt and has freed you from the power of sin. He has completely forgiven you (past, present and future), he loves you and he will never stop. He gives you an everlasting inheritance and adopts you into his family. He will never leave you or forsake you. He will finish what he started. His loving kindness is better than life. He is worthy of all praise. You can find true joy in Christ in this world. Though now we experience it in part, one day we will in full - in the new heavens and the new earth. #thegracescripts

What does godly womanhood look like? Well, far often than not, it looks like practicing faithfulness in the ordinary and growing in grace and love and every good thing. Godly women are: Women who have a submissive spirit, to God and all divinely instituted authorities. (Please note this is NOT calling a woman to submit to an abusive man or leader, be it her husband, a pastor or a boss). Women who seek to glorify God through loving others. Women who work hard in the world for God’s glory. Women who practice meaningful church membership. They see the local church as gods plan for his people. They teach them that those who they disciple serve in the church, submit to leadership Women who delight in the Word of God. They know they are created to love the Lord their God with all their minds and they want to know God, their time in the word is essential for their lives and ministries Women who practice Faithful persistent evangelism. They do the hard work of making the plan for evangelism and following through. They make an intentional and often written plan for evangelism: they can tell you the names of the people they are praying for daily, they want to do the hard work of loving the Lord their God with all their strength. Women who show simple, ordinary hospitality.
Their doors are open; serving countless cups of teas and coffee. They view their homes as something the Lord has provided as a means to serve the least of these Women who live a praying life. A godly woman is dedicated to prayer, often praying for her church, her children, and her community. Women who exemplify faithfulness. In whatever season she finds herself in, she is faithful in the mundane, serving as a role model for her family, her work and her community. Continued in comments #thegracescripts

Single friends — do you know what is attractive? Godly manhood. Men who have a submissive spirit, to God and all divinely instituted authorities (if he can not submit to his authorities, he will, himself, be a poor authority). Men who seek to glorify God through loving others. Men who work hard in the world for God’s glory. Men who refuse to compromise what is true for the sake of maintaining a relationship. Men who are diligent. Men who are patient. Men who are humble. Men who fight for truth and righteousness. Men who preserve liberty for women and children under God’s law. Men who fight for the powerless. Men who help the weak. Men who advocate for the needy. Men who take up their crosses and lay down their lives out of love for the Lord and for other image bearers. #thegracescripts

God’s way to the nations is Christ. Jesus Himself said, “I am the way.” And somehow, in His wisdom and kindness, God has chosen to use His people as instruments in the salvation of others. That makes our blessings a serious stewardship. We have been entrusted with the gospel—not to hoard it, but to share it. Ephesians 1 reminds us that we are sealed with the Holy Spirit. That truth frees us to live boldly. To take risks. To trust that if we are in Christ, we can never be utterly destroyed. You have a story that no one else has. You have gifts, resources, freedoms, and opportunities uniquely given to you. God intends to use them. FAITHFULNESS OFTEN LOOKS ORDINARY We hear story after story of God’s faithfulness through women who simply followed Him—often in the mundane. Women who: Commit to meaningful membership in their local church, believing it is God’s plan for His people. Delight in the Word of God, knowing they were created to love Him with their minds and that Scripture is essential for life and ministry. Practice faithful, persistent evangelism—making intentional plans, praying by name, and following through. Open their homes in simple, ordinary hospitality, serving countless cups of coffee and tea as an act of obedience and love. What sets these women apart is not exceptional talent or influence. It is the Spirit of Christ living in them. They are doers of the Word, not hearers only. And through their faithfulness—often quiet, often unseen—the nations are hearing the gospel. #thegracescripts

Lie: Your body’s appearance is flawed but fixable. You are not the right size, shape, or color. But you can (and should) go to enormous effort and expense to change that. Truth: Your body’s appearance is designed by God. You are fearfully and wonderfully made, according to a plan. Because God is a God of infinite creativity, people come in many different sizes, shapes, and colors. #thegracescripts

Holiness matters. And the good news Is that believers are given joy to obey! God’s grace gives us right standing before God and that grace leads to obedience and transforms our hearts. Theologians call this process Sanctification.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We are called out of our sin and into holiness. Ephesians 4:25-32 tells us that we are called to be imitators of God, to forgive, walk in love, exercise wisdom and discernment and to expose sin. It tells us that fruits of the spirit are kindness, gentleness, and love.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Did you catch the one that says as followers of Jesus we are supposed to expose our sin and turn away from it? Matthew tells us that we can not serve two masters. (Matthew 6:24)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ So how do we kill sin?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 1) Confess. Sin always grows best in the dark. (1 John 1:9, James 5:16)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2) Repent. As John Owen once said, “Be killing sin or it will be killing you”. Part of repentance means we are going to have to make changes. (Acts 3:19, 2 Peter 3:9)⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3) Believe. Read Romans 8:9-11. If you are in Christ, you have all that you need to move on from that sin.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 4) Patience. Read Philippians 1:6.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 5) Community: We need others to encourage us, to lovingly point out our sin and to walk alongside us! (Psalm 133:1, Romans 12:4-5).⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The love of Christ will have to be the spring from which your holiness flows. This is the only way to have lasting obedience and true transformation. God, in Christ, loves you. He forgives you and is committed to working in and through you. Press on in your Sanctification, sweet sister in Christ. Do not lose heart. (2 Corinthians 4:16-18) He who began

In every season of my life, let my heart believe that Jesus Christ is so much better. More than any relationship, any human praise, any career or earthly treasure, Jesus Christ is better. More than life itself, Jesus Christ, who is himself eternal life, is so much better.
