Hi friend! If you’re new here, my name is Caroline! And I’m so glad you are here. Here’s a little bit about The Grace Scripts and what you’ll find here in the coming months!I grew up in the church, and was taught the importance of studying God’s Word from a very young age. However, it wasn’t until I was in middle school that the Lord used the local church, and some faithful teachers to show me that I idolized the good opinions of others. God graciously showed me that I needed to fear the righteous wrath of God, and that I had no hope of receiving Christ on my own merits. I remember crying out to God and his grace relieved all my fears. Praise God that he saves us because of Jesus alone. In elementary school, I began writing chapter books and sending them through USPS to my great Aunt Carolyn who lived in Memphis. I would write a chapter and illustrate it, and mail it off to her so she could complete the next. I’ve always loved art and storytelling, and the older I’ve grown, the more I have realized what a treasure it is to get to create and write things that point people to the greatest Creator and the truest Author. In college, I hit publish on my first article of sorts. I shared a few snippets of what the Lord was teaching me and some art pieces I had recently completed. Shortly after that, a few friends approached me with the desire and conviction to know Christ more by being good students of His Word, but they weren’t sure where to begin. After a few conversations, I started writing more & gathering biblical resources for Bible Studies, sound churches and more and compiling them into one website. Through the years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some really great people and sound ministries — and even speak at a few women’s and girl’s events! It’s been such a blessing, and one I do not take for granted. But I think my favorite time occurs within the walls of my home, where I host friends for dinners and Bible studies, and we press on, together, to know Christ more and we fellowship together, as covenanted members of the same local church. It’s not lost on me what a gift jt is that you allow us to take up some space in your life. We do not have to banish all sense of mourning in order to rejoice. Paul rejoiced in his suffering with Christ, but he was not exclusively rejoicing. God created humans with a complexity of emotions. In 2 Corinthians 6:10, we are told of the paradox of following Christ: “We are treated as imposters, and yet are true; as dying and behold we live; as sorrowful yet always rejoicing.” We can be sorrowful in a real and emotional way, yet not consumed by our sorrow;rather we remember Christ, which brings stability and joy in the midst of pain.To a world that doesn’t know God, this sounds impossible. To those that have tasted and have seen that indeed He is good (Psalm 34:8), we know that until Heaven, we will suffer. However, as we are sorrowful, we are always rejoicing because of the hope we have in Christ alone. We do not grieve without hope. We have a God that understands suffering entirely because Jesus Himself became a Man of sorrows, lived a perfect life we could not live, and died a death He didn’t deserve so that He may set free those that are in bondage to sin (Isaiah 53:3).#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

My hope is not found in the calmness of life. It is not found in what I own, what I do, or anything I can earn. It is not found in my health, wealth or relationship status.Joy and peace are not found in any earthly comfort or human apologies, nor is it found in changes in circumstance. When life is overwhelming, God calls us to be still and know that He is God. To trust in his sovereign, kind care.Romans 15:13 tells me that my joy and peace come from the God of hope, IN believing.Run to Jesus! He alone settles your weary heart. You can rest, knowing that God is good even if your circumstances never change! Our joy and peace ABOUNDS in believing in the God of hope, nothing else. He is our greatest (and certain treasure). He is the wellspring of our soul. He alone can satisfy + he will satisfy you with himself.#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

David reminds us in Psalm 139 that the Lord is everywhere that we might go. He is always near and never far.Though God is everywhere fully present, we are not always aware he is. Whether we sense his presence or not, Acts 17:27 tells us that “he is not far from any one of us.” Though now we experience him in part, one day for the believer we will experience him as Immanuel, God WITH us as we have only experienced him to be in a limited way during this life.#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

Jesus paid it all on the cross. There is nothing left to be paid. It’s by Christ’s meritorious life and His substitutionary death that we can stand in the presence of a holy God. Without Christ, we would be without hope, because all we can carry to God is our unjustness.Because of Christ’s ultimate sacrifice, if we are believers, the Lord looks at us and sees not our unworthiness, but Christ. If you confess your sins to him, and ask for mercy on the basis of His death on the cross and not any of your “good” deeds you can be sure that you are justified. God has canceled your debt and has freed you from the power of sin. He has completely forgiven you (past, present and future), he loves you and he will never stop. He gives you an everlasting inheritance and adopts you into his family. He will never leave you or forsake you. He will finish what he started. His loving kindness is better than life. He is worthy of all praise. You can find true joy in Christ in this world. Though now we experience it in part, one day we will in full - in the new heavens and the new earth.#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

Have you ever felt unseen? Forgotten? Left out? Do you feel lost in a sea of chaos? My friend, you can rest because you are always seen by God. He has not forgotten you. He is near to you, always: in joy and brokenness. He is King, Lord, Father, Comforter, Creator, El Roi.He sees when no one does, He comforts when no comfort is found. He is peace when the world deafens, He is joy when joy seems to be lost.He clothes the lilies of the fields, there are no hungry sparrows, and you who are crafted in his image, are worth so much more than they. He sees you. He cares for you. He always provides what you need. You can trust in this good and perfect Father, the one who always sees you and is always with you.#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

Are you overwhelmed by life? Are you unsure what the future holds? Are you weary and heavy laden by the weight of sin in the world? Won’t you come unto Jesus? Won’t you look to him and find peace that passes all understanding? He is peace when the world is in chaos. He is joy when life is gloomy and dark.He is quiet and faithful, when the world roars. He is hope when all hope seems to be lost. When your burden is heavy, his is easy to bear. When you feel afraid, I hope you look to Jesus: the author and perfecter of your faith, the alpha and the omega, the faithful shepherd who walks with you all of your days, the greatest and truest high priest who constantly lives to make intercession for you before the Father. When you are afraid, put your trust in Jesus. The Psalmist in Psalm 56:3-4 says,“When I am afraid, I put mytrust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I shall not be afraid. What can flesh do to me?”Nothing and no one can ever pluck you from the hand of Jesus. He is with you in whatever comes your way and he will never allow you to be utterly destroyed even if you die in this world. You can always trust this strong, kind and faithful Jesus. So the next time you start to feel overwhelmed by an unknown future I hope you remember that you can trust that unknown future to a known god who loves you, gave his son for you and walks with you - lighting each step of your path along the way.#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

Do people approve of me? Will they like this post?Galatians 1:10-11 says, “For now I am seeking the approval of man or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ.”Isn’t this the deep cry of our hearts? From the beginning of time, even in the garden with Adam and Eve, people have longed for human approval. This problem is only amplified through social media and smart phones and in some ways, it hinders our relationship with the Lord.Tony Reineke says that we have been conditioned to post and watch for those immediate “likes” of human approval...and this craving for human approval absolutely kills faith. Read John12:42-43. God is saying that you want glory from your peers. You can’t see how glorious I am because you are seeking human approval.Whether we struggle with constantly staring at and refreshing our social media platforms waiting for those “likes” to roll in, or we took with human approval in a different way, it is an incredibly slippery slope. The Lord can not be truly magnified in our lives if we are basing our worth off the thoughts and cares of man insteadFriend, what the Lord says about us in Scripture is SO much more life giving and satistying than any Instagram post with 1k likes or human accolades. If you have found life in Christ, through his death and resurrection, you have truly been set free. God looks at our lives and instead of our guilt, sin, and shame, sees the pertect and complete sacrifice of Jesus in our place. So why should we care more about what other people think about us when the Creator of the universe looks at us and calls us his own?Today, put your phone away. Instead of refreshing that screen one more time, let us refresh our souls with Words that are sweeter than life. Praise our glorious God that the approval of man is not what sets us free, but rather the precious blood of Christ, our perfect and spotless Savior.#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

Do you know what is true about your day?God has gone before you. He walks with you and covers behind you, not a step will be taken alone. What is also true? You may experience hard moments.Temptation to worry, or fear might knock at your door. But go back and remind yourself of what is true — that God is with you.It is the simplest yet most life changing truth. You will learn, beloved, that because he loves you, his plans for your life are good and nothing will ever be wasted. His sovereignty covers every surprise you will face, his power eliminates every threat of sin or satan and nothing and no one can take away what he has planned and purposed for your life, and his loving kindness meets you with grace and mercy enough for every moment. He is with you. He is with you. He is with you.He is for you. He is for you. He is for you.And he will meet you in every moment with just enough grace.#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

There’s a huge difference in knowing God and knowing about God. You see, you can be a diligent student of theology, you can understand doctrine and you might even be able to explain it, but if you have all of this knowledge, and it makes you puff up with pride, rather than humbles you, you have head knowledge and not heart knowledge. My friend, a relationship with Jesus should change absolutely everything in your life because it ultimately changes your heart. It should change your attitude, your actions, habits, words, deeds, the way you see the world, the way you see others and the way you see yourself. It should change what you value and what you pursue. It should change where you find your hope, joy and peace. It should change you to your very core. It should change you from the inside out.Has knowing Jesus changed you? Do you love the law and the gospel?#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

Where do you go when you are tired and weary? Do you run to having all of the answers of figuring out the details of your life?Believer, true and lasting rest and peace is found only in Jesus. It’s found through the God of hope in believing. You may not know what will happen tomorrow. You may not know who you will marry, what the end result will be of that test, how many children you will have,if your cancer will go into remission or how God will answer the deepest prayers and longings of your heart in this life, but you can rest knowing in the certainty of the hope and joy that is held for you by Christ for all eternity no matter what possibly comes your way.We can stand firm in the hope of the gospel knowing that Jesus is always working and always present, even when it doesn’t look like it or feel like it.May your soul find rest in God alone as you look to Jesus, trusting the author and perfecter of your story today and tomorrow and all of the tomorrows that are still to come.#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts

I am thankful for a God who is always near. I am never alone.Jesus always sees me, no matter where I am, or what sorrow I face or if noone else is with me.He knows me...fully, and he loves me and always lives to go before the Father in prayer for me.He upholds my life. No one and nothing can steal a single minute from my life or take away the good purposes and plans that he has for me.He is joy when there is no joy to be found. He is hope when everything feels hopeless. He is the light of the world, and though seasons change and people change, he sits high above the heavens and never changes — always the same good, faithful, loving, steadfast, just, omnipotent and sovereign God.Remember beloved and take heart, wherever you go, Jesus is.Whatever valley you may walk, Jesus is.Whatever mountain you may climb, or view you may enjoy, Jesus Christ is there with you.In every season you enter, Jesus is there. He is always with you, he is never far. He sees you when no one else does. He is hope when all hope seems to be lost. He is not slow keeping his promises to you and he who has held you will carry you through every season of this life and all the way to glory where you will rejoice in him, delight in the fullness of THE glory, and praise his name with all the saints of old, on golden streets, forever more. What a wonderful day that will be. And it is certain, beloved. There is no question that it will surely come to be.#thegracescripts by @thegracescripts
