I think I accidentally manifested a commission, and I have the receipts to prove it.

The title imagery of a Greek cookbook titled OPA! by the gorgeous @helenaandvikki ended up on my visual mood board months before I knew the authors or the book existed.

The Chief Crumb Collector…

A gorgeous set of napkins to honour a family dog. Sadly, his little face isn’t hovering under the table, but Biffy Tyrone will always have a place with this commissioned napkin set 🥰.

I hosted a dinner party…

The theme, however, was apparently Garrett Graham.

At one point I genuinely considered adding him to the seating plan.

Anyway, here’s your reminder that the best dinner parties aren’t really about the food, or the tablescape setting, they’re about finding a topic so ridiculous that six women can talk about it for four hours straight.

Some people buy a new outfit for the weekend.

I hand embroider a new set of napkins and spend the entire week thinking about building a theme around it. From table settings, to playlists and whether a grape tower is necessary.
(It absolutely is).

What’s the first thing anyone reaches for when someone spills a glass of wine at dinner?

Usually a napkin! 🍷

Which is probably why I’ve become slightly obsessed with the idea of embroidering a tipped wine glass and a little puddle of spilled wine onto one.

The colour battle is ongoing as it’s not quite where I want it to be.

I’m chasing a deep Bordeaux shade and I suspect it might need one more round in the dye bath before I get there.

I’m thinking white thread to finish.

Both ironic and iconic, if you ask me.
And honestly, I’m really looking forward to stitching this one!

Fun fact: I’m allergic to prawns.
