This accomplishment is deeply personal, today, I successfully defended my doctoral dissertation, a journey that began in 2020 when I first applied to the program. After receiving a Crohn’s diagnosis, I paused my plans to prioritize my health. In 2023, I re-entered the process with full clarity, purpose, and faith. Balancing a full-time career, motherhood, and doctoral research wasn’t easy.

I’ve encountered doubt, criticism, and moments where the weight of it all felt overwhelming. But I leaned into my faith, stayed grounded, and pressed forward. I did this not just for the title but to show what’s possible when you lead with faith, purpose, and resilience

To every Black woman in cybersecurity who’s ever felt unseen; I see you, I am you, and this is for you.

I’ve been honored as one of the Most Influential African American Women in Metropolitan Detroit by the Women’s Informal Network! This recognition means everything to me, especially because it celebrates the work I’ve done with @reethecyberboss. Educating and uplifting the next generation in cybersecurity and showing our community that there’s a place for us in this space.

I dedicate this award to my Grandad, who’s no longer with us but is always in my heart. Thank you to my Aunt Felicia and Aunt June for nominating me and believing in me. And the BIGGEST THANK YOU TO MY MOM, my forever role model, for being the woman I’ve always looked up to and for showing me what grace, purpose, and perseverance looks like.

I’m so thankful for this moment and even more excited to continue making an impact.

RTCB® × Cyber Culture® 🎙️✨

Two platforms. Two women in cyber. One conversation about the industry, the culture, and everything in between. For Episode 25 of The Cyber Boss Show™, I sat down with my friend Oluwadamilola Obamehinti, Founder & CEO of @cyberculture.io for a conversation that goes way beyond “how did you get into cybersecurity?”

We’re talking about what it really looks like to go from corporate executive to founder & CEO, the access and gatekeeping that still exists in cybersecurity, why qualified people can still struggle to get in the room, and how AI is changing what it takes to stay competitive.

Cybersecurity Awareness Month is about more than telling people to change their passwords. We’re talking about the people, careers, access, behavior, and culture behind this industry too. Episode 25 is now available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts 🎧 by @reethecyberboss

The Cyber Boss Show™ has never been about having the perfect setup or saying all the “right” things. It was created to make conversations about cybersecurity and everything in between feel real, relatable, and accessible. Whether you’ve listened to one episode or have been here since the beginning, thank you❤️

Every listen, share, and message reminds me why I keep doing this. This season, we’re getting back to the heart of the show: learning, laughing, having real conversations, and making cyber feel a little more human. Season 3, episode 24 is now available on spotify & apple podcasts🎙️ by @reethecyberboss

If you’re headed to @culturecon this weekend, you can officially find I Belong Here: Words of Affirmation for Black Women in Cybersecurity at The Official CultureCon Bookstore powered by @literatureandlibation.

A book I created specifically to remind Black women in cybersecurity that we are capable, qualified, and worthy of taking up space will now be sitting on a shelf at one of the biggest celebrations of Black creativity, culture, and community. I Belong Here was created by @reethecyberboss for the moments when imposter syndrome gets loud. For the woman entering cyber wondering if there’s room for her. For the woman already here who still finds herself questioning whether she belongs. Make sure you stop by and look for I Belong Here. And if you see her on the shelf… take a picture for me🥹 by @reethecyberboss
