This past weekend, the winners of the @reetinstitute 2025 cohort stepped onto the @bomaedm Awards Gala stage and received the Youth Excellence Award.

Let that sink in.

These are high school students who spent 8 weeks studying commercial real estate, learning from industry mentors, and competing in a pitch competition in front of industry professionals as judges.

They did the work, and the industry took notice.

We would like to genuinely thank @bomaedm for actively investing in the next generation. In a room full of accomplished professionals, you made space to celebrate young people who are just getting started. That means everything to us.

Not another club. Not another class. A program that taught them how to pitch to investors, analyze real assets, and see buildings the way commercial real estate professionals do…all before graduation.

Last weekend, the judges scored them as the champions.

Every scholar who competed this year showed up and proved something: that the next generation of commercial real estate isn’t coming someday.

Eight weeks ago, you were introduced to an industry most people your age don’t even know exists.

You learned. You built. You put together a pitch that could move buildings, attract tenants, and generate real returns.

Tomorrow, it all comes together.

12 PM — Practice rooms are open on-site. Get your final reps in.
2 PM — Pitches begin. The room will be watching.

And before the evening is over, we’re crowning the 2026 REET Institute champions.

“We were late… and she wouldn’t meet with us.” 😳
Yep. It actually happened.

One team showed up late to their mentor meeting and their mentor said no. No redo. No squeezing them in. Just: that’s real life.

So what did they do? They stood outside in +30 weather with their flashcards and practiced.

And guess what? They still say it was one of the best lessons they learned.

REET isn’t just about commercial real estate. It’s about stepping into the real world.

Being on time.
Being prepared.
Respecting people’s time.
Taking it seriously.

Because in this industry — and in life — those things matter.

You might get tough feedback. You might get held to a higher standard. But that’s how you level up.
