Such an incredible learning experience and opportunity I couldn’t have done it without my teammates and mentors. I’m so grateful for everything I’ve gained from this and excited to keep learning more about the industry. I still can’t believe we won 😊

Life has been a whirlwind lately. I haven’t even had time to properly debrief on the @reetinstitute pitch competitions. Running two cohorts in different cities, while pursuing my master’s degree and managing two businesses, has been a grind. But seeing the scholars shine on stage and impress everyone with their knowledge in #CRE makes it all worth it. Thank you to everyone who supported us in the past months.

Grateful to work with an incredible team and can’t wait to share our plans for the future!

Martin Langlois, JEMM's Principal of Operations, had the pleasure of hosting @reetinstitute students through @bridgeyyc. We are proud to support REET in their mission to engage BIPOC students in the opportunities provided by commercial real estate. We loved their sharp-thinking "clipboard" questions and the great discussion about what makes Bridge distinct and competitive.

Keep the students coming, Andrel Wisdom at REET! Thank you to Lorena Jonsson (Garcia) at Cushman Wakefield for making this important connection within our community.

One of the hardest things about building something from the ground up is that you’re not always going to see the fruits of it until months, years later (or sometimes even longer).

We started @reetinstitute back in 2021, and we had absolutely no idea how it would go, if it would even work.

But 3 years later…
✨ We’ve successfully completed two cohorts in Edmonton;
✨ We’ve launched our third cohort in Edmonton this year;
✨ We’ve expanded to Calgary and launched our first cohort; and
✨ We get stories like this with our alumni.

Scholars from our first two cohorts who are now actively pursuing a career in commercial real estate, or who have connected with mentors beyond our program, or who are doing part-time work or internships in the industry.

And it’s stories like that that keep us going. A reminder of why we’re doing this on the side, in addition to full-time work, building businesses, and everything in between.

It’s connecting with scholars years later and hearing their stories that make it all worth it. I feel honoured to do this work. 🫶

Welcome back for today’s #podcast 🎙️ with Enyinnah Okere on #perspective and #leadership. Enyinnah brings a #unique view to the discussion given his background. We look at how to find leadership, and staying #true to one’s self, in today’s world of social media craziness and cancel culture.

Also, we get into the implementation of #DEI initiatives within #policing, and talk about the changing #meaning and #intent behind these ideas. This is a respectful #conversation, from both perspectives, which is how it should be done.

Be sure to checkout @michelle0kere and Enyinnah’s project @reetinstitute

The industry has recognized the need to create a talent pipeline of young, diverse workers who don’t “stumble” into a career in CRE but instead intentionally walk into this industry. That’s why the @reetinstitute has created an educational framework to introduce youth at the high school age to the commercial real estate industry.

Hear from #BOMEX2023 panellists Enyinnah Okere, Michelle Okere, and Andrel Wisdom, the Co-Founders of the REET Institute, about the insights and learnings from its first year of providing this program. These insights will help your company connect with the talent pipeline of young, diverse youth and foster their growth in your company.
