When Jennifer Harris, an interior designer, and Courtney Guhl Huckabay, a mental health professional, met while volunteering at The WARM Place, they didn’t expect their shared passion for helping grieving children to spark a lasting friendship—or a book.

Bonded by their own experiences of losing their fathers, Jennifer and Courtney discovered a powerful connection during their time as volunteer facilitators at @thewarmplace with families navigating grief. Their deep conversations around loss, emotional healing, and the spaces we live in ultimately inspired @reframe_reclaim —a heartfelt guide to transforming both home and heart.

We’re honored to share how The WARM Place helped bring them together. 💙🧡

A little introduction!

We’re Courtney & Jennifer, the duo behind Reframe & Reclaim. ✨

We met while volunteering at The WARM Place, a grief support center for kids. Both of us had experienced the loss of our fathers, and through that shared experience, we formed a deep friendship that has lasted for years.

One day, Jennifer was helping her brother declutter his home when she noticed something interesting his struggle to let go of belongings wasn’t just about "stuff"… it was emotional. She recognized the same patterns in herself and reached out to Courtney for insight.

That conversation changed everything.

💡 We realized that clutter isn’t just physical it’s deeply connected to our mindset, emotions, and past experiences.

With Courtney’s background in mental health and Jennifer’s expertise in interior design, we combined our knowledge to create a 7-step process to help people reframe their relationship with belongings and reclaim their space & mind.

That’s how Reframe & Reclaim was born. And from those insights, we wrote a book to help others go through this transformation at their own pace.

If you’ve ever felt overwhelmed by clutter, struggled to let go of things, or wanted a space that actually supports your well-being you’re not alone. We’re here to help. ❤️

Check out our book & follow us for tips on transforming your space and mindset!

What happens when decluttering after a death means sorting through an entire lifetime of someone you love?

Cleaning out a loved one’s home, managing inherited clutter, and deciding what to keep, donate, sell, or let go can be one of the most emotionally exhausting parts of grief and bereavement. And the statistics show just how complicated this process can be.

A 2026 survey found that 56% of Americans who have cleared a relative’s home said dealing with their belongings made it harder to fully grieve, while 49% would rather inherit nothing than deal with a relative’s belongings. Even more striking, 60% say they hold onto inherited items out of loyalty to the person they came from—not because they actually want them.

In this episode, we explore why sentimental items and inherited belongings can make decision-making so difficult after someone dies. Grief adds an emotional layer to every decision, while the sheer volume of possessions can create decision fatigue, overwhelm, guilt, and fear of letting go.

By taking time now to have conversations about inheritance, end of life, and wishes of your loved one, loved ones can have clarity about decision making and also comfort in knowing their loved one’s wishes are honored. More importantly, these crucial conversations can ease anxiety, worry and overwhelm for the survivors of death loss as well.

Whether you’re facing an estate clean out, inherited clutter, downsizing after a death, or simply struggling with sentimental belongings, this episode offers a compassionate way to rethink what it means to honor someone and their legacy of life. taken in Fort Worth, Texas by @reframe_reclaim

YOU THOUGHT BUYING IN BULK WOULD SAVE YOU MONEY…

But what if buying more actually means wasting more?

Bigger packages can lead to more consumption. Research reviewing 61 studies and 6,711 participants found that people consistently consumed more when offered larger portions or packages.

And the food you don’t eat can become food waste. In the U.S., an estimated 30–40% of the food supply is wasted.

Then there’s the pantry problem…
You buy the giant box because it’s a “better deal,” but now it’s shoved behind everything else. You forget it’s there. It expires. And suddenly that bargain cost you money, space, and peace of mind.

REFRAME:
Buying more isn’t always saving more.
Sometimes the better deal is buying only what you’ll actually use.

RECLAIM:
Less food clutter.
Less waste.
Less stress.

Before you buy in bulk, ask:
Will I actually use all of this before it expires?

We all have a “someday box”. A place where we store the dreams, plans, possibilities, and versions of ourselves we hope to become. It might hold the career we want, the home we imagine, the places we want to travel, the creative projects we keep postponing, or simply the life we believe is waiting for us someday.

But what happens when our hopeful aspirations meet the reality of our lifestyle and life needs?

In this episode, we explore the space between possibility and practicality. Between optimism about what could be and honesty about what actually fits our lives. The “Someday Box” isn't about giving up on our dreams or lowering our expectations. It's about learning to examine what we're carrying, what still matters, and what might need to be reimagined.

Sometimes, “someday” is a destination. Sometimes, it's a dream that needs a new shape. And sometimes, the life we already have contains more possibilities than we realized.

Join us for a thoughtful conversation about hope, ambition, contentment, and the choices that help us build a life that is both possible and meaningful.

FEAR: “If I don’t buy something, I’ll forget the trip.”

REFRAME: “I don’t need more stuff to remember where I’ve been.”

I used to bring home souvenirs so the memories would stay.

Now, I scratch off the places I’ve visited on my map.

Same memories.
Less stuff.
No extra clutter.

Your memories don’t live in your souvenirs. They live in you.

What could you reframe today so you can reclaim your space?

✨Follow Reframe & Reclaim for more strategies to rethink your stuff, your space, and the stories attached to them. ✨

Sometimes the answer to clutter isn’t another storage solution. It’s seeing what you already own and deciding whether it still deserves space in your home.

How much stuff do you actually own and how much of it is simply hiding from you?

In this episode, we explore the idea: “If you don’t see it, you don’t own it.”

Think about the mysterious boxes sitting in the garage, the overflowing junk drawer, the closet full of miscellaneous items, and all those things you know you have somewhere… you just have no idea where.

And then comes the moment when you actually need something. You search. You dig. You move boxes around. You check drawers, closets, cabinets, and storage bins. Eventually, you give up and buy another one.
But if you couldn't find the one you already owned, did you really own it in the first place?

We’ll question whether having something tucked away in a forgotten box is meaningfully different from not having it at all and whether our accumulation of “stuff” is actually making life more difficult or overwhelming.

Maybe the goal isn't to own less. Maybe it's to own what you can see, use, appreciate, and find when you need it.

Because if you don't see it… do you really own it?

Your home is not a storage unit.

Before you ask, “Where can I store this?”
Ask: “Is this worth giving space to?”

Sometimes, the best organizing solution is simply owning less. Create a home that supports the life you’re living now. Not a collection of things you simply store.
