Lessons from my first time doing drag:

1. Drinking water with a mustache (and wearing mustaches in general) is a sensory nightmare.

2. Random male audience members will come up to you and give you high fives and fist pumps, which you are not used to at all.

3. Maybe don't invite a person you are into to your first drag performance, even if you thought they were on similar weirdo wavelengths. by @reganshrumm

On September 19, I facilitated a cyanotype workshop @dyejardinpapillon around the Mary Oliver poem, Fall. The poem reminds us of the beauty of the "of the almost finished year."

I only took three photos before my phone fell into water during the workshop. After a week of sitting in rice, it still works (thank you Nick for quickly buying me rice to save my phone)! But unfortunately, I got no photos of participants' lovely work. taken in Montreal, Canada by @reganshrumm

On September 12, I held a bubble art workshop, Tiny Bubbles Make Me Happy, at @dyejardinpapillon to explore the meaning, symbolism, and joy in blowing bubbles. The idea came after becoming the designated 'Bubble Queen' at recess for blowing bubbles daily during my elementary school job last year. I noticed how people of any age, including teachers and adult passersby, stop and observe the magical, translucent pieces of art. After researching, I found out how much bubbles are actually so useful in science labs to figure out things like weather and climate change.

I'm currently working on a zine based on this event as well as my bubble-blowing that occurred over the summer at Jean-Brillant Pac. by @reganshrumm

As the end of the year winds down, join artist Regan Shrumm for a cyanotype workshop at Dye Jardin Papillon. Using fallen leaves, petals, and even trash around the garden, participants will make sun-prints out of paper and fabric. Feel free to bring your own materials to make your print as well. The event is free, but donations are welcome. Please note that there is limited parking and the bathroom is a single non-accessible outhouse.

Bubbles may seem simplicity in nature – resorting to the realm of childhood. But bubbles have had a long been used to represent a wide variety of symbols, from temporality of life to political ignorance.

Enjoy a day of all thing’s bubbles, including creating bubble prints, blowing bubbles, and eating bubble food, in order to contemplate what bubbles may mean to us. Facilitated by artist Regan Shrumm. The event is free, but donations are welcome. Please note that there is limited parking and the bathroom is a single non-accessible outhouse.

For the past week, I went swimming everyday, caught grasshoppers and toads to observe and let go, listened to family lore of a friend, read and wrote poetry, and went to perhaps the best cinema experiences of my life (@highlands_cinemas ). As always, at the end of the school year, I am gifted with a lot of amazing drawings and time spent drawing with the kids. This year, one of my favorites, may have stolen (I think) a McDonald's chicken nugget as my goodbye gift after we had long conversations and lots of collaborative drawings about what she thought were potatoes with faces. I hope one day she watches Julio Torres to explain my love for them.

Went down to Glover, Vermont to visit @breadandpuppet and @museumofeverydaylife_ - also went for a three hour walk along a creek, hitchhike to a swimming pond where I pet a chicken, watched two friends volunteer for a cult and do an amazing job at it, and ate very good cabbage rolls.
