Glasgow, we’re here!📍🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Our first ever Regeneration Brainery event in Scotland and what a way to start.

We’re so excited to have brought our programme to Glasgow, and we couldn’t have done it without every school, student and partner who got involved and made the day so special.

This is a huge step for us, and we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make it happen.

Glasgow, we’ll be back👀 taken in Glasgow, Scotland by @regenbrainery

So the last passenger on the Brain Train was a Project Manager…Now we have a Development Manager.

So what’s a Development Manager then?? What’s the difference??

Both are about making places happen, but they focus on different parts of the journey.

🏗️ A Development Manager looks at the bigger picture — finding opportunities, working out whether a development is viable, securing planning and funding, and bringing together the people needed to make it happen. They ask: “What should we build, why, and how do we make it work?”

📋 A Project Manager focuses on making the project happen, coordinating the design team and contractors, managing budgets, timescales, risks and quality, and making sure the development is delivered successfully. They ask: “How do we deliver this well, on time and on budget?”

Both involve problem-solving, teamwork and working with lots of different people, find out which one could be for you by signing up!! Link in bio! by @regenbrainery

What is a Project Manager??

A Project Manager oversees building and development work from the first idea to the final handover. They don’t necessarily do the work themselves – they make sure the right people are doing the right things, at the right time and to the right quality.

If you’re the one in your friendship group who’s always planning the day out, sorting the timings and making sure everything comes together… you might already have the skills to be a Project Manager!

We caught up with Alex Atkinson at @Identityconsultltd, who works on transformational regeneration projects. Alex’s route into the industry is a great reminder that there’s no one way in – she actually studied Law before finding her career in the built environment!

Sometimes the route you didn’t expect can lead somewhere better.

So no matter your next steps… KEEP GOING ! There are so many opportunities out there, you never know where your route might take you.

We are here to help you discover what’s out there…your results are one moment, but your future is so much BIGGER!🚀🩷 by @regenbrainery

Ever Heard of Working in Strategic Communications?

If you love connecting with people and making an impact, then a career in strategic communications within the built environment could be for you.

You’d be helping to tell the stories behind the homes, schools, parks and neighbourhoods of the future, using social media, events, campaigns and community engagement to bring people together and make sure every voice is heard.

There isn't one route into strategic communications. People come from lots of different backgrounds, whether they've studied English, media, business, geography or marketing, or even planning and architecture. What matters most is being a great communicator, enjoying working with people and being curious about how places and communities are shaped.

Brendan from @Turley found his way into strategic communications and loves the variety that comes with the role, helping to shape the stories behind the places being developed.

Find out more about Turley here: https://turley.co.uk/careers
