I’ve learned that often times, the things we’re running from are the things we should be running towards. This feature in @voyagebaltimore really challenged me to dig deep and share parts of myself that I haven’t accessed in years. It also gave me the opportunity to reflect on how far I’ve come, but most importantly, look forward to the journey that lies ahead.

To anyone out there going through a tough time, or things not going your way, remember there’s pain in your purpose and purpose in your pain.

I went to Cape Town, South Africa, for a mission to serve, pour into their leaders, & assist in what God is already doing there by building their communities, but tbh, the mission changed me + my outlook on what it means to truly be a disciple. There are certain encounters you have where you can’t be the same after having those experiences. This was one of them.

In addition to all of that, this trip + this year itself have been an answered prayer I prayed 7 years ago… You see, there are a lot of things that I don’t know, but I do know one thing: I think a big part of why I’m here is to be an example of crazy faith. Like, I really believe there’s nothing in Him I can’t do, and I’m unapologetic about that + I desire to spread that as long as I live.

Let us all pick up our respective batons and run the race God has set before us all. There’s a generation waiting on your yes… taken in Cape Town, South Africa by @reginaldeward

This was one of those full-circle moments…

I went to @ncatsuaggies to study broadcast journalism, and although I don’t directly work in that field today, being able to use the skills I developed years ago to sit alongside @charliedates and moderate a conversation on his new book, What Hath Justice Do With Righteousness, was something I couldn’t have imagined.

One thing I’ve learned is that God is intentional about ordering your steps. He wastes nothing. He uses every season, every lesson, and even the things we think are no longer relevant.

Thank you to my brother @iamjoshuakjenkins for trusting me with the opportunity to lead this conversation.
