from chris to lingam rocky (elar) ——- in depth video on YouTube. Link in bio. ————- the reason i chose this name lingam rocky (elar) is because i took a very serious approach to spirituality when i started to walk this path

i wanted to find something that was more spicy, lighthearted, almost even ridiculous, not like a cool sounding or serious of even good looking name and at the same time also be deep as well

the biggest blockage in my journey to a more conscious life has been being too serious. the word rocky was the first one to be chosen by a facilitator that i was doing a retreat with in Phuket

he saw me on my way back from the hotel just as i had had an experience with something that was not that dramatic actually, but the reaction in my body to it was super intense. the main reason for this is because i was conditioned from my environment growing up as a child that even the smallest things can be a super big deal and dramatic

this was also somewhat a bigger deal as it was a moped that i had rented and i gave it to someone to give it a try but it crashed onto the floor. luckily both of us were completely fine as the moped literally just drove off by itself for a moment before crashing to the floor

either way an intense response internally happened in my body, because immediately all these thoughts about insurance, payments, being blamed for crashing the moped and everything came up. The biggest reason it felt like such a big deal though was because of this conditioning in me that I learnt as a child that created intense amounts of emotional reactions within me, that led me to sweating profusely and shaking

the facilitator saw this as i was coming back to the hotel room in that state, we told him what happened and then he just said ā€œrockyā€ to me in an excited and almost curious way ——- this continues in the comments ———-

You don’t have to separate ā€œpracticeā€ from the rest of your life.

Start somewhere quiet if that helps. Then bring the same noticing into walking, eating, working, brushing your teeth even into the moments after you react.

The point isn’t to notice perfectly. It’s to keep noticing.

Save this and try it once today.

For a long time, I loved talking about meditation and spirituality and if I was honest with myself, I often found ways to distract myself from actually practicing.

Then life happened, someone close to me passed away, a relationship ended and for the first time I stopped searching for answers outside of myself and started sitting with what was actually there.

That journey has taken me through countless practices, teachers, and experiences and the greatest lesson i have found is surprisingly simple.

Peace was never something I had to create, it was something I had to learn to uncover. That is why I created the free 7 Day Nervous System Reset.

Sometimes all it takes is one genuine moment of seeing clearly for everything to begin changing. The course is simply a place to begin.

If something in this resonates with you, comment ā€œRESETā€ below.

I would love to share the free 7 Day Nervous System Reset with you and welcome you to the journey. ā¤ļø by @regulated.human

I don’t think most of us keep repeating stressful patterns because we enjoy being stressed.

A lot of the time, what we know simply feels easier than what we don’t.

Even now, I catch myself wanting a different experience while still making many of the same choices that created the old one.

So these are the kinds of choices I’m learning to question:

1. Before saying yes, notice whether I actually have the capacity for it.
2. Notice what I’m treating as urgent and ask whether it really is.
3. Leave part of the day empty instead of immediately filling every gap.
4. Notice which conversations I keep carrying around instead of having.
5. Ask what actually deserves my energy instead of treating everything like it matters equally.
6. Notice when I’m reaching for my phone because I want to, and when I’m reaching for it because I don’t want to sit with what’s here.
7. Ask whether there’s still room for something useless, fun, weird or simply enjoyable.
8. Question what repeatedly leaves me depleted instead of only learning how to cope with it better.
9. Notice when discomfort makes me feel like I need to decide, fix or act immediately.
10. Pay attention to the choices that keep taking me back to the same place.

None of these guarantee a stress-free life. Life will still be life.

But if I keep wanting something different while living exactly the same way, eventually I have to become curious about that.

Sometimes change begins with noticing the next choice that keeps recreating the life we say we want to change — and trying something different.

That’s a big part of why I created the 7-Day Nervous System Reset. It’s a simple place to start noticing what’s happening inside you, how it shapes the choices you make, and where there may be room to choose differently.

If you want to start creating that change for yourself, comment RESET and I’ll send it to you.

One thing self-observation has helped me with is noticing the chain a little earlier.

Something happens. My body reacts. My mind gives it a meaning. Then comes the urge to do something about it.

I don’t always catch it before I react. Sometimes I notice during. Sometimes afterwards. That still gives me something to learn from.

What do you usually notice first: the sensation, the thought or the impulse?

Comment RESET if you want my free 7-Day Nervous System Reset.

I spent a lot of time looking for the ā€œrightā€ way to live, heal, grow, work, rest and be human.

I’m becoming much more interested in noticing what each moment actually asks for.

Sometimes have discipline. Sometimes make a mess or do nothing.

Which pair do you need reminding of most right now?

Nervous system regulation and self-observation started for me as ways to meet the chaos inside.

Over time though, I realised there was something deeper underneath that work.

The less the noise inside was running my life, the easier it became to hear what actually felt like me, what pulled me, what I wanted, what I wanted to create.

That’s the deeper reason behind Regulated Human.

What keeps pulling at you, even when you don’t fully understand why?

I’ve spent years exploring healing, meditation, nervous system regulation and self-observation.

Somewhere along the way, I started noticing how easily all of it can become another search for what’s wrong with me.

Sometimes the practice is simply letting what’s here be here without turning it into another project.

What are you learning to stop fixing in yourself?

Self-observation has made me notice how easily wanting to change can turn into rejecting what’s already here.

For me, nervous system regulation isn’t about becoming less sensitive, less emotional or some perfectly calm version of myself.

It’s learning to meet what’s here with less resistance, and letting change grow from there.

That’s a big part of Regulated Human.

What part of yourself are you learning to stop fighting?

When I spend time in nature, I usually notice less stress and less overthinking.

That space matters to me. Regulated Human explores nervous system regulation and self-observation, but underneath that is something deeper: learning to hear what actually feels like you.

Nature doesn’t give me the answer. It just makes the noise a little quieter.

Where do you hear yourself most clearly?

I find this comforting. So much of what feels enormous right now will eventually disappear. Not because it doesn’t matter while we’re here, but because maybe we don’t need to carry it so tightly.

Self-observation keeps showing me how much pressure I create around temporary things. I explore this in my free 7-Day Nervous System Reset. If you want to begin there, comment ā€œRESETā€ and I’ll send it to you.

What are you carrying that could feel a little lighter?

Lately I’ve been questioning what ā€œshowing up for peopleā€ actually means.

I think I’ve carried this idea that if I care about someone, I should be able to meet them in the way people normally meet: make plans, go somewhere, hang out for a few hours, give them my full attention.

Right now though, a huge amount of my energy wants to go into building. Concept art, Regulated Human, everything behind the social media and whatever else wants to come from it.

So I’ve started experimenting with something different. I’m reaching out to people and basically saying: this is how I can meet you right now.

Come over, do your thing and I’ll do mine. We can work, talk if there’s space, eat if it naturally aligns, maybe go outside, rest, move, whatever each of us needs. The idea is that everyone stays in their own rhythm and if those rhythms naturally meet somewhere, beautiful.

If that works for someone, beautiful. If it doesn’t, also beautiful.

I’m realising that relationships don’t always have to be about figuring out how we’re supposed to show up for each other.

Maybe we can get better at honestly saying, ā€œThis is how I can meet you right now. How can you meet me?ā€ Then we see whether those two things overlap.

That doesn’t mean hiding behind ā€œthis is just my capacityā€ either.

I can already see places where my own patterns make connection harder than it needs to be. When someone is here, things still come up in me. I can notice them, stay with them and keep exposing myself to something that previously felt difficult.

It’s a work in progress, but it already feels like it’s getting easier.

Maybe it’s not about forcing yourself to show up the way you think you should, or closing yourself off.

Maybe it’s about honestly meeting where you are right now, staying curious about whether that can grow, and giving everyone else the freedom to do the same. by @regulated.human
