🚩 “Same-day removal.” “Best price.” “Cash deals.” “Hassle-free.”

Sounds like a great deal? That’s exactly why rogue traders can be so difficult to spot.

Criminal waste operators know exactly what to say to make their services sound tempting, especially when you need rubbish gone quickly.
⚠️ But a convincing ad doesn’t mean they're legitimate.

To avoid falling for a #RubbishDeal, ask for a licence number, check it on the Environment Agency register and make sure they’ll give you a receipt.

A few simple checks can protect you and your community from fly-tipping.

✔️ Banstead ACF, Anzio Company, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment
✔️ Redhill ACF, Anzio Company, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment
✔️ RAF Air Cadets, 135 (Reigate & Redhill) Squadron, Surrey Wing

These local cadet units were on Sunday 11 October presented with the Freedom of the Borough of Reigate & Banstead - the highest civic honour a local council can bestow upon individuals, groups, or corporate bodies - for their outstanding service to the local community.
It was wonderful seeing the young cadets and their instructors march before receiving their honour. And as Cllr Nick Harrison, Mayor of the Borough of Reigate and Banstead noted, "a truly deserved recognition for the fantastic civic work that the units do in our community".

Whenever you’re hiring someone to collect your rubbish:
✅ Ask for a waste carrier licence

A big shout out to @florriescafe in Redhill for scoring a 5 (Very Good).

The Food Hygiene Rating Scheme informs consumers about the hygiene practices of food businesses. It also encourages high standards.

A 5 rating indicates full compliance with food safety laws. Well done to the team. Congratulations to Florrie's cafe in Redhill who scored the top mark by @reigatebanstead

You are invited to a special civic ceremony on Sunday 11 October from 1pm to 2pm at Priory Park, Reigate, for the presentation of the Freedom of the Borough of Reigate & Banstead to local cadet units. The units being honoured are:

✔️ Reigate Sea Cadets, Reigate Unit No. 281, T.S. Ark Royal
✔️ Banstead ACF, Anzio Company, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment
✔️ Redhill ACF, Anzio Company, The Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment
✔️ RAF Air Cadets, 135 (Reigate & Redhill) Squadron, Surrey Wing

The units will gather in Bell Street car park and march into Priory Park, where they will form up in front of Priory School (opposite the fountain). .

Everyone is welcome to attend and the event is open to the public. Freedom of the Borough to local cadet units on Sunday 11 October at Priory Park by @reigatebanstead
