A fantastic first night ride on gravel in the New Forest, starting from the new Pronto Bikes store in Ringwood. 🌙🚴‍♀️

So good to finally ride with Ro from Girls That Ride Bikes, see the forest from a completely different perspective, and meet so many new people along the way. I’ve ridden the New Forest plenty of times, but never at night — and what a way to experience it!

A spicy-paced ride too, which definitely kept things interesting! 🔥

Next up… back into the forest on Friday for a daytime shakedown ride and some coaching ahead of my gravel camp in Morocco later this month with Female Explorers.

Made a bit of a #schoolboyerror today!

Went down wind on the first leg - was actually averaging 18.9mph / 30.4kph … and then turned back into the wind 🤦‍♂️🌬️🚴‍♂️

Anyway, started off quite cool, but as soon as the sun broke through, wow! So warm and sunny 🌞😎 Is it really October?

Beautiful road ride around Somerset and Wiltshire. Only marred by never ending need to see where new trails go! I found a disused road which was beautiful but descended to a dead end. Field riding on road tyres to find my way out is not recommended!

Lovely ride out to the Shotley Peninsula with a stop at the Suffolk Food Hall.

Once more a beautiful day - cool to start but warmed up nicely.

Most of the day was spent trying to keep up with Merv (again!) 🤪

🐀 The Rat Run 🚲

What a weekend! ❤️

A massive thank you to New Forest Off Road Club and Tom from The Woods Cyclery for putting together such a brilliant route and weekend Rally.

260km of off-road riding through the New Forest, along the Dorset coastline and up through Cranborne Chase, before looping back to the New Forest.

But for me, it was as much about the people as the riding. Meeting loads of new faces, riding bikes, sharing the highs and lows and generally having a bloody good adventure! 🙌

The route was absolutely beautiful and definitely tested everyone — especially with a bit of classic British weather thrown in! 😂

If you love getting off the beaten track and fancy a proper challenge, put the Rat Run on your bucket list. 🐀

Good people, great bikes, beautiful places and plenty of tired legs. What more could you want? 🚲❤️

Up hill and down dale!

‍You kind of know what you are in for when you hit a 16% ramp just a mile into your ride! Little respite on the downhills as they are just as steep and you end up going down with your brakes on!

Went on some very little roads and had to dodge a few sheep and cows!

Saw Thor’s Cave from above and below, which is pretty impressive.

And finished off with another stunning sunset 🌅

Transiberica beat all my expectatives, good and bad haha. This ultra rounded up my first year in the ultra world. I signed up only a few weeks before, but that this is only possible, because I’m always training to be able to make this spontaneous decisions, as this is no easy feat. I have not had the smoothest starts in the last few ultras and it might be, that I’m still a newbie, I know something always will happen, but hey, please don’t throw it all at me! Always still enjoying the adventure, but hey that was a lot. 😂 My period delayed, it started on that very first night, bivvy spot was great, but period was in full swing cramps, headache and me overheating, then a routing mishap and a questionable bivvy spot on the second night, meant being sleep deprived on the 3rd day, not ideal. Required a big stop in the morning. And 3rd night welcomed me escaping a thunderstorm while fully exposed 😅 4th night I was still hopeful for a good chase of the front so tried a big push to get back closer to 3rd place, but unfortunately, in the early morning after sleeping, while still a bit dark, I went straight into a barrier that I saw way too late (looked like many had crashed into it so I choose to believe the reflective strips were not good enough), somehow aside of some knee and ankle in some pain, I left unharmed, but bike with mechanicals that delayed me, and the scare and frustration meant I took a “mini holiday” in Cp 5 😂 chatting with other riders and @bite.of.me about how to support more women in cycling while enjoying the views. In general my phone comes out when I’m on my own, so very few videos show other riders/people that I met on the way, but seeing someone means nothing in terms of the effort, because as a self supported event you if going solo you should never take a wheel!

So proud of all the women in the race, all women solo finished the ride, and most in the top 50% of the total ✨
What a trip, all I feel is I need to go do it all again. Anyway, That is 5 of 12 days, next reel coming soon 🥹😍
