Barely Suzie Series — “From Ring Lights to Spotlighting Wellness”

I never thought my story would be written about.
Not because I didn’t dream big — but because, for a long time, I thought stories like mine only belonged to people who already “made it.”

I started as a performing artist — Taekwondo, dance, anything that let me move and express. But life has its way of reshaping you.

Losing my grandfather during the pandemic broke something in me — and it also woke something up.

I packed my dreams into two suitcases and moved to the UAE. No job waiting, luckily I have my sister & her husband and a few family members as my support system— faith and the quiet hope that I could rebuild myself here.

I wasn’t a big influencer then. Just a girl trying to make life comfortable, applying for jobs, teaching fitness, posting little videos that felt like journals. But I kept showing up. Even when no one was watching.

So when I saw my story published on UAE Stories, it didn’t feel like a “big break.”

It felt like a full circle.

A reminder that the small-town girl who once danced under stage lights now gets to shine a different kind of light — one that helps others move, heal, and believe again.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s this:
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
Just start — scared, imperfect, unsure — and trust that your light will find its way through. 🤍

Always grateful for the gift of family, @meloodeya @kntnshinyarmor @rellonpj @suzitahbanez 🤍

And the guidance from above, God and Lolo, salamat kaayo 🙏🏽✨

There’s something about a fragrance that feels fresh and warm at the same time. 🤎

Burlington 1819 by ROJA

What caught my attention about this fragrance is the contrast. It opens with this bright, almost sparkling citrus freshness, but there’s also a warmer, slightly spicy side that makes it feel more interesting than your usual fresh perfume.

Think juicy grapefruit, a little mint, and ginger, with a deeper warmth from rum, tobacco, and woods.

It’s the kind of combination I wouldn’t immediately expect to work together, but I’m curious to see how it develops on my skin.

A little background: Burlington 1819 takes its inspiration from London’s historic Burlington Arcade, which opened in 1819 and is also home to ROJA’s flagship boutique.

I think there’s something beautiful about the idea of capturing a place and its history through fragrance.

For now, just a little unboxing. I’ll be spending more time with this one before sharing my full thoughts. 🤎

Have you tried anything from Roja?

Maybe getting your spark back looks a little like this. ☀️

Sunlight through the windows, dancing for no reason, stepping outside just to feel the warmth on your skin… and finding a fragrance that somehow feels like all of it.

Astrum Nova by @electimusslondon is sunshine with a little mystery. Bright citrus, juicy mango and dark berries, softened by florals, warm vanilla and a beautiful woody depth.

Luminous, playful, and just a little intoxicating.

A fragrance that feels like falling in love with the little things again. 🤍

What if the future of health isn’t just about treating problems, but understanding our bodies better before they happen? ✨

Spent the day at the Future Health Summit in Abu Dhabi with @ultrahuman_me , exploring how technology, fitness, and even emotional well-being are shaping the way we approach our health.

From conversations with industry experts to discovering innovations that go beyond physical fitness, one thing really stayed with me: the future of wellness is becoming more personal, proactive, and connected.

And as someone who wears her Ultrahuman Ring every day, I love seeing how the little insights we get about our sleep, recovery, and overall well-being are part of a much bigger conversation. 💙

Here’s a little glimpse into my day and some of the conversations that made me think differently about the future of health.

“They’re just flowers.” 🌸

But they were there through the tears, the quiet moments, and the days when everything felt a little heavier.

Sometimes, it’s the smallest gestures that remind us there’s still beauty in life. 🌸

So no, they’re never just flowers. 🤍

A little reminder that someone is thinking of you, even on your hardest days.
