Still floating in awe and gratitude after the most magical week at @rememberatlantis Mermaid School & Dance Training here at @sirensanctuarycostarica

Mermaids traveled from all across the world to be part of this experience — and what we created together was beyond anything I could have dreamed.

We shared our souls… danced, swam, laughed, cried, and forged deep sisterhood bonds that I know will last a lifetime.

@aradiasunseri shared deep vitality wisdom and temple fusion belly dance, and @hannahmermaid dove into extensive knowledge of the art of underwater modeling, ocean activism and water healing.

We witnessed nature’s wonder all around us — giant butterflies twirling in the breeze, monkeys leaping effortlessly from tree to tree, toucans feasting above our heads, and even a giant iguana guarding the road… only letting us pass once he realized we were friends, not foes.

Every morning we were nourished by the divine creations of our goddess chef @ine.spiral and captured in our full mermaid glory by the incredible talents of @dakotafoxfotos @brettsphoto and @nataliesmailey

Every mermaid left glowing — hearts cracked wide open, spirits soaring, and seeing life through a whole new lens.

This is the magic of mermaid life. This is the power of sisterhood. This is Remember Atlantis.

I’m still reveling in my trip to Costa Rica last year for @rememberatlantis retreat. Surrounded by the magic of the ocean and a team of brilliant artists, I was able to dream big.

I’ve led retreats. I know they work.
But I wanted to understand why.
So I started reading the science.
What I found?
Quietly impressive.

Studies from places like UC San Diego show that a single week of immersive retreat-style practices can create measurable changes in the brain and body. Not just “you feel nicer” changes, real shifts in brain networks linked to stress, emotional regulation, pain processing, and attention.
In simple terms:
Your nervous system learns a new pattern.
Stress that used to hijack you gets processed differently.
Emotions feel less overwhelming.
Your mind settles and focuses more easily.

Other studies tracking people through longer retreats show reduced depression, fewer repetitive negative thoughts, and improved focus and memory.
