Q4. We’re digging a little deeper. ✨

Not just into what’s next—but into what’s working, what’s not, and what needs to shift.

As the founder of Remix Living, I’ve spent years building around one belief: everyone should have access to great design. But as the vision gets bigger, I’m learning that the business behind the vision has to make sense too.

So this quarter, I’m looking at EVERYTHING—the numbers, the opportunities, the gaps, the services, the impact and where my energy is actually producing results.

I’m asking harder questions. Making room for the pivot. Strengthening the foundation. And getting serious about what true alignment looks like for Remix Living and for me as a founder.

Because having a vision is one thing.
Building the right business to support it is another.

I’m just trying to outgrow the version of me that got me here.

Thank you @pidcphila for believing in my company and giving us the opportunity to access the right professionals to help us get there ✨🤌🏾

Q4… let’s get to work. 🖤 by @remixliving

The pretty part is just the part you SEE. 👀

Behind every finished Remix Living space is a whole lot of coordinating, problem-solving, site visits, vendor calls, subcontractors, measurements, installations… and managing ALL the things. 😂

We’re not just selecting furniture and making spaces look good. We’re working alongside our trades and vendors, managing the details, solving the unexpected, and making sure the vision actually makes it from concept to completion.

Because a beautiful design is one thing.
Executing it well? That’s where the real work happens. ✨

Welcome to the part of interior design Instagram doesn’t always show you.

Shit happens. 🤷🏾‍♀️

Lawsuits. Vendor drama. Long install days. Mentorship. Client pivots. Lessons I definitely didn’t ask for. 😮‍💨

But every part of the process makes me a stronger founder.

The goal stays the same: figure it out, get it done, and make sure the client is happy.

9 years in and still learning, still growing, still Remixing. 🤎

Interior design is NOT just picking pretty things. 👀

It’s measurements. Space planning. Renderings. Function. Artistry. Materials. Construction details. Problem solving. And yes… making it look GOOD when it all comes together. 😏

The pretty is the part you see.

The DESIGN is everything that happened before it.
Great design should look good AND make sense. Period.

Save this for the next time somebody says, “So you can just do it yourself” 😭

The finished space is beautiful…but the PROCESS is where the real work happens. ✨

From the initial consultation and site survey to space planning, selections, presentations, construction, vendor coordination and those final styling details—every finished Remix Living space starts with a plan.

And while you may see our name on the design, bringing that vision to life takes a team. Contractors, trades, fabricators, installers, vendors and our design team all play a part in getting us from concept to completion.

This is the Remix process.

My non-negotiables as a designer? 👇🏽

✔️ In-person site surveys—because photos never tell the whole story.
✔️ In-studio design presentations—so clients can experience the design before it’s installed.
✔️ Boots on the ground during installation—making sure every detail is executed exactly as planned.

Great design isn’t just about the final reveal. It’s about the process that gets you there. That’s where the magic happens. ✨ #RemixLiving #blackinteriordesigner #interiordesign by @remixliving
