She needs more of you, not for you to do more for her.
You all probably hear a “To Do” list. That’s the actual problem. I don’t view these things as items on a to do list but rather an attunement to my wife to be. I’m present in observation of my woman and what she needs. I hear what she says but I also read between the lines of what she says, what she feels, and what she means.

I’m not here to solve all her problems, that’s a no go. She needs me to be present WITH HER through them.

When we argue or challenge one another it’s with love. We don’t fight one another, we fight towards deeper understanding. It’s her and I versus the problem, not each other.

Chivalry will not die with me. Neither will honor. My woman treats me like a King and that’s because I treat her like my Queen. by @ren_aissance_man

I grew up watching my Dad fix everything. He taught me how to use tools to take care of the things that took care of us. I refuse to let that end with me. I refuse to not continually try to impress that inner child who was awestruck by his Dad. Now it’s about impressing that boy with the man he’s grown to be along with who he is becoming. but man oh man do i love looking at him, this handsome heart that feels like home.

it was precision more than patience that led me here.

shared visions that became solo missions, both which began before we ever knew the others name.

it was being so clear in my own worth, without validation or explanation, that another could only be the best next investment and crystalline reflection, never a questioning or subtraction from.

each with a clear commitment to our paths of passion & purpose, that there was only room for another who supports & self discovers, each in equal responsibility to unravel more of what we are here to do.

the roles we are here to own are so vastly differing, and their intrinsic dynamic is to compliment - creating a united front so fortified, we have no choice but to expand into more of who we each came here to be.

a mate for my soul, a lover to my human, a companion to my heart and a man unlike any other, throughout every space in time.

i waited for him
released identities that never served me
as much as sacrificed the maiden i once was
to become the woman who would rise and grow
create a whole life, a fuller life, and even more life

Accountability is a love language we all ought to speak fluently.

I’m still learning myself.

I used to believe leadership meant always making the right call, saying the right thing, or accounting for everyone perfectly. Heavy is the head that wears the crown.

These days, I’ve been ruminating on intention versus impact and how I can own the aforementioned better.

The women I work with are extensions of the standards of responsibility I’ve taken in my own life.
They are forces of nature, inquisitive, wild, wondrous creatures of accountability and curiosity.
It is the same reason I met and married a very good, positively dangerous man who is kind and gentle and savagely ready.
I had spent most of my life either seeking validation from boys, or being a loud feminist repellent for them.
And I had to leave it all behind.

Women infantile themselves every time we evade accountability, and when I left that state of being, it put more responsibility in my hands but it sparked a sense of empowerment that has guided women for always: the choice to leave the village, in search of what is true and a life that is truly her own.

For much of my life, before I was brave enough to fully leave the herd, I believed it was the patriarchy’s fault, and that women’s rage alone was the answer. That systems needed more women as the solvent to men in power.
Now- I see a system of petulant children. Both boys and girls who have grown into adults without rites of passage to be living in responsibility of their convictions, circumstances, let alone consequences from lacking accountability for the former.

Women who are overly masculinized and caretaking the world of infantile men without receiving any true protection.
Men who are feminized, lusting and fantasizing what they can take from women without offering any real provision.
Living this way kept me famished.
Dehydrated of vitality in my cells and my self awareness.
I was empty of life force, unable to be in service to life - not the ideologies we’ve created about it.

We are generations of pain, abandonment and seething rage tucked neatly into identities curated by our circumstances.
But we are also the ones who our ancestors prayed for.
Full of wealth and choice and joyous gratitude for being given life.

Which wolf we feed in the bloodline we come from, that is up to us.

I see an urgency for women to wake to their feminine fortitude, and seek the equal counterparts in the mature masculine who urgently live to protect this world too.

i look through a future daughter’s eyes
like my mother did for herself, for me

living devotion of a bloodline not yet here
alive in our beating heart’s

my Ma envisioned the woman she needed to be
so i might be guided to become my own

her life gave me life
but it was her death
that prompted me to start truly living

the paths i’ve walked were not to feel good
but to uncover truth
and discover my own

before and beyond the false textbook history’s taught
learning the languages of the earth; flora fauna fungi soil
learning the patterns of the celestial bodies
and the regenerative potential within our own

training in inquisitive movement
challenging the conscious body
to strengthen, soften and stoke clarity

learning the art of nourishment
not through ideology nor apathy
people eating but not nourishing

this morning i said to my husband
sharing our thoughts over coffee and tea
respectively
‘i’ve been mapping my body for almost 2 decades’

practicing radical responsibility for my physical experience
throwing out novels of textbooks that we are taught as law
refusing systems of ‘sickcare’ that put no power back in our hearts or hands
designing the heart of my art
community and paradigm:
Wild Honey Women

wellness has been commodified
but true wellness is wholeness
being whole is to embrace the entirety of our experience with autonomous responsibility

to practice ‘self care’ in questioning what we’re taught
and turning towards our body of innate intelligence

to love thyself with ferocious clarity
every sensation
carrying information
only available when we listen

devotion to the life we’ve been given
a gift to open everyday

nurtured by the adoration of another
who matches our flame

my future daughters are going to see a woman who adores herself

an adoration of two beings who love one another

they will watch the woman i’ve chosen to be

my Ma said ‘i felt god for the first time growing you’

divinity sleeps within us
until we live in reverence
of our vessel made only for us

my children will see me worship creation
in my every breath
living on purpose
living for the pleasure of being alive
living as a woman who knows
