Socks for Souls

Socks are the #1 requested, least donated item to those in need. Many people in need are on their feet all-day or lack transportation options and have to walk everywhere. If a foot injury incapacitates them, their problems can compound, such as being unable to walk to work, get a hot meal, or get a doctor’s appointment, and their conditions worsen, creating more hardship.

How can you help?

We will be collecting new socks at Renewed Freedom Center today through December 22nd. In-house socks donations will go to Winter Shelter, a Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority affiliate. You can also purchase socks from Socks For Souls, a 501c3 Non-Profit that collects and donates socks to those in need. They make all of their socks in the USA, and socks only cost $1 a pair – you can Show You Care for $1 a Pair! Giving Tuesday is right around the corner. This year, Renewed Freedom Foundation aims to raise money to provide a year’s worth of treatment to a person in need. From November 29th through December 31st, RFF, RFC, and LTC will be accepting donations and recommendations for individuals whom you feel would benefit from receiving treatment but may not be able to afford it.

Antioch University is asking for anyone who meets the following criteria: (1) previous or current OCD diagnosis from a physician or mental health professional, (2) age of 18 years or older, and (3) status as a United States citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) to participate in complete in a 10 minute online questionnaire about sociodemographic information, OCD treatment history, and barriers to OCD treatment.
