How do you walk into a room?

Is it with your head down, hoping not to be noticed?

Do you overcompensate — trying to prove you belong?

Or do you enter with quiet awareness:
“I know why I am here.”

Confidence is not a catwalk.
It is not pretending you are fearless.
It is not being the loudest person in the room.

Sometimes confidence looks like:

1. Knowing your purpose
Before you enter a room, ask: Why am I here? What do I bring?

2. Taking up your rightful space
Not by overpowering others, but by allowing yourself to be seen.

3. Trusting your preparation
Your confidence grows when your actions match your intentions.

4. Staying true to yourself
You don’t need to perform confidence. You need to practice presence.

The way you walk into a room often reflects the conversation you have already had with yourself.

So tell me , what is one thing you consciously do to feel confident before stepping into a room?

“A woman has to be twice as good as a man to go half as far”….. FANNIE HURST

.
One of the most delicate journeys a woman will ever take is the journey of confidence.

That is the work we began at The Confidence Lab.

A room where women are challenged, stretched, refined, and empowered to show up more confidently in business, career, leadership, and life.

From activities like:
1. Confidence audit in our workbook
2. Peer to peer simulations
3. Confident posture practice
4. Headshots and more…

@tehga.a took us on a mind blowing exposure to the world of owning the online space without fear ..

@jap_shotz drilled us into confidence posture, allowing your image speak confidently even when you are not there..

Ladies, share your favorite moments….

At the core of meaningful conversations lies advocacy you are either advancing an idea or being influenced to consider another.

Developing an early understanding of advocacy provides a strategic advantage. It enables you to:

• Clearly define and articulate your convictions
• Confidently own and express your voice
• Contribute meaningfully to issues that align with your values

I had the privilege of engaging with an inspiring group of young girls from various schools in Abuja.

This is an experience that reaffirmed the power of equipping the next generation with the tools to speak and lead with purpose.

A week ago today, I had the privilege of hosting the Nigerian Wealth Summit.

It all started with a call and recommendation from Aunty MB. Following our initial conversation, I eventually got to speak with Ms Ifeoluwa Adegoke, who shared the vision and objectives the team had for the summit.

As I reviewed the profiles of the panellists and discussants and listened to the conversations unfold, the subject became increasingly real and relatable.

Two thoughts particularly stayed with me.

Engineer Ngerebara Justus encouraged participants to deliberately connect with people they admire. His point was that when you get close enough, you realise that these people are human too, learning and making progress. Sometimes, time and opportunity have simply met them at the right point. Your own time will come.

Then Ms Ifeoluwa Adegoke made a statement that summed up so much for me: “Wealth starts from your mind.”

These two thoughts have stayed with me because they speak to possibility and perspective. You must first believe that something is possible, then be willing to learn, connect and take the necessary steps towards it.

I’m excited by how purposeful my work continues to be: at the intersection of creating the atmosphere for meaningful conversations and facilitating the exchange of ideas that can inspire action and birth change.

It was a pleasure to host the Nigerian Wealth Summit, and an absolute delight reconnecting with @braveopy such warmth and presence you carry always 💐

Some of the most meaningful moments at events are not always on the stage. They are in the audience.

They are in the young person who leaves with a new perspective. In the woman who fills a page with notes because she is determined to learn. In the participant who finds the confidence to share an idea. In the conversations that challenge what people thought they knew about governance, opportunity and their own potential.

Hosting events gives me a front-row seat to these moments, and one thing stands out: people are not just looking for events to attend; they are looking for ideas, connections and experiences that add value to their lives.

When people are given the right information, a platform to contribute and the opportunity to engage meaningfully, something shifts. They begin to see possibilities differently. They ask better questions. They make connections. They imagine new futures.

That, to me, is the real value of a well-curated event.

And it is why I believe the work of a host goes beyond managing a programme. It is about creating the conditions for people to participate, connect with the message and leave with something worthwhile.

To every event organiser intentional about creating that kind of experience, I’d love to be part of your next room.

Don’t just wing it. Practise for it.

Every day gives us an opportunity to prepare for something we hope to achieve in the future.

The meeting. The presentation. The conversation that could open a door.

It was an absolute delight sharing my thoughts on confident communication.

Remember, confidence isn’t always about knowing what to say in the moment. Sometimes, it’s about having practised enough to show up prepared.

When last did you practise what you planned to say before an important meeting?

Did you know that Matthew 5:16 is such an instructive verse?

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

To me, this is a call to show up, roll up our sleeves and do the work we have been called to do so well that people can see the fruits of our labour.

But beyond noticing us, may they see the signature of Christ in how we live, what we do and the lives we impact, and ultimately give glory to God.

When @theconfidence__lab was birthed, the vision was to help women, both young and experienced, become confident enough to show up as the women they desire to be, without holding back.

And this is what keeps me going.

On days when I stutter, and my brain whispers,

“Renny, step down from that stage,”

my heart reminds me that being on that stage is bigger than me.

It is about the woman watching who needs to know that she, too, can speak up, take up space, own her gifts and confidently become who she is called to be.

So, if you are a woman who is learning to show up more confidently, use her voice and own her space, I would love to have you in this community.

Follow @theconfidence__lab . Let’s learn, grow and become together.

It takes confidence to let your light shine.

Every year, @dareafrica_ raises the bar! And for the 4th time, I had the privilege of steering the ship.

I stood before young people from diverse backgrounds, united by a shared responsibility to shape Nigeria’s future.

We talked about our shared identity beyond ethnic differences, the urgency of the present, the need to disrupt systems that no longer serve us, and the importance of regrouping to build something better.

Strategic conversations. Fresh perspectives. Knowledge sharing. Ideas that challenge the status quo.

This is my kind of room!

And beyond the conversations, I left reminded that the future we want will require more than good ideas. It will require collective action.

If you were at the 6th edition of the DARE Conference, what is ONE thing you won’t forget in a hurry?

I’d love to hear it.

Africa’s future is too important to leave to chance.

Today at DARE Conference 2026, we’re asking what youth power really means for governance, climate, technology, and the future of our continent.

I’m Morenikeji Olonilua E.Y, your Day One host, and trust me, we’re not just showing up for conversations.

We’re showing up to challenge ideas, ask the hard questions, and rethink possibilities.

DARE 2026! Let’s get into it. See you there!

And yes, you can add #runwayshow host to the list!!!

When @safron_bridals said,
“Renny, I want you to be part of this journey,” my first thought was, Runway? Hmm.

I researched, prepared, and stepped into a new space and delivered!

A new milestone, a new skill, and another reminder that growth begins when we embrace new opportunities and put in the work.

Congratulations once again, @safron_bridals , on a beautiful show!
