Barbora and I were saddened to learn of Justice Melissa Hart’s passing. I had great respect for her work as a jurist and public servant, and Barbora had the opportunity to know her through her work with Colorado’s judicial review commission.

Melissa was a remarkable intellect, a dedicated teacher, and a committed public servant. Colorado is better for her years of service.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Kevin, their children, and everyone who knew and loved her. May she rest in peace.

If you’ve stood at the Lincoln Memorial or the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, you’ve seen a piece of Colorado’s Third District.

PBS’s Colorado Experience tells the story of how the marble at these memorials came from the Yule quarry near Marble in #CO03. It’s an interesting look at the people and history behind Colorado’s mark on our nation’s capital.

Manufacturing has deep roots across Colorado’s Third District—from steel and energy to aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and the outdoor industry.

On National Manufacturing Day, I’m proud to recognize the skilled men and women who build and produce right here in Western and Southern Colorado.

Their hard work supports good jobs, strengthens our communities, and helps keep American manufacturing strong. šŸ‡ŗšŸ‡ø #CO03 by @repjeffhurd

Protecting the historic Shoshone water rights is about protecting Western Colorado’s water for generations to come.

Securing $40 million in federal funding for this effort took persistence and bipartisan cooperation. I’m grateful to Senator Michael Bennet for working with me across party lines and across administrations to help get this funding across the finish line.

Shoshone supports agriculture, recreation, local economies, and long-term water reliability throughout the Western Slope. There is still work ahead, and I’ll keep working with Senator Bennet, the Colorado River District, and communities across Western Colorado to permanently protect these historic flows. #CO03

More than $62 million is coming directly to rural health care providers across Colorado’s Third District.

For families in Western and Southern Colorado, that means stronger local hospitals and clinics, expanded telehealth and specialty care, better equipment and technology, and more services available closer to home.

In a district as large and rural as ours, access to quality health care depends on strong local providers. I’ve made rural health care a priority in Congress, and I’m glad to see this investment reaching communities across Western and Southern Colorado. #CO03 by @repjeffhurd

I strongly disagree with CPW’s decision to suspend its chronic depredation directive and sharply restrict lethal removal of wolves that repeatedly prey on livestock.

This policy was developed after years of work with ranchers, wildlife officials, sportsmen, conservation groups, and other stakeholders. Now CPW is stepping away from that framework just as producers have begun relying on it.

When ranchers have used reasonable nonlethal tools and wolves continue attacking livestock, lethal removal must remain a real management option. Ranchers should not be expected to absorb repeated losses while the state changes the rules.

I opposed wolf reintroduction and continue to believe it is the wrong policy for Colorado. In the meantime, the state has an obligation to give livestock producers every reasonable tool to protect their animals and livelihoods.

Aspen/Pitkin County Airport just received a $37 million FAA grant, which is the largest single FAA grant in the airport’s history.

The funding will help pay for the major runway project planned for 2027, rebuilding, widening, and shifting the runway to meet current FAA standards.

Airports like ASE are critical infrastructure for Western Colorado. They connect our communities to the rest of the country and support the economy of the Roaring Fork Valley.

I’m glad to see $37 million in federal funding coming back to #CO03, and I’ll continue working with Pitkin County and local leaders as the project moves ahead.

Yesterday, Dr. Mehmet Oz and I said more good news was coming for rural health care. Today, CMS announced $169.6 million for 91 grantees and roughly 250 projects across Colorado.

For families in Western and Southern Colorado, this is about bringing quality care closer to home. These investments will expand telehealth and specialty care, strengthen emergency services, support our rural health care workforce, and give local providers more tools to serve their communities.

I’m grateful to President Trump, Secretary Kennedy, @drozcms, and @cmsgov for recognizing that health care looks different in rural Colorado and investing accordingly.
I’ll keep working to make sure our communities get their fair share and that Washington understands the needs of the people I represent. #CO03

Distance is a fact of life in rural Colorado. Access to quality health care shouldn’t be.

I welcomed Dr. Mehmet Oz, Administrator of the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, to Mountain Family Health Centers in Glenwood Springs to see firsthand the important work our community health centers are doing across Western Colorado.

The Rural Health Transformation Program will bring $200 million to Colorado to help expand access to care, strengthen rural health services, and support the health care professionals our communities depend on.

We’ll have more to share tomorrow about what this investment means for rural Colorado. #CO03 @drozcms by @repjeffhurd

For 40 years, Grand Junction’s Business Incubator Center has helped Western Colorado entrepreneurs turn ideas into businesses and create jobs right here at home.

This week, I joined BIC CEO Dalida Bollig and USDA Rural Development Colorado State Director Sallie Clark to announce nearly $700,000 for rural small businesses, including a new microloan program serving five Western Slope counties.

I was also glad to recognize BIC’s 40 years of service to our communities with remarks in the Congressional Record. #CO03 by @repjeffhurd

It’s always good to see people from #CO03 here in Washington.

Last week, I hosted another Coffee with Your Congressman for constituents visiting D.C. Some were here to advocate for their communities and issues they care about, and I appreciated the chance to sit down, hear what brought them to Washington, and answer questions.

If you’re planning a trip to D.C., whether for work, an issue you care about, or a family vacation, let my office know. I’m always glad to visit with people from the district, and my team can also help arrange tours of the Capitol and other sites around Washington.
