Recently I had the honour of performing alongside some incredible artists at a gathering for Kate, a boat that left Bristol Harbour the following morning to join the Freedom Flotilla, an international mission sailing towards Gaza with humanitarian aid and a message of solidarity with the Palestinian people. 🇵🇸

At a time when witnessing so much death, destruction & human suffering risks becoming normalised, I find myself asking how did we get to a point where the suffering of an entire people can unfold before our eyes, day after day, and the world continues to carry on?

Yet surrounded by so much darkness, I continue to find hope in humanity. In ordinary people doing extraordinary things. In those willing to cross oceans, give their time, share their resources and put their own comfort aside for the sake of others.

That afternoon in Bristol was a reminder of why we create art. Music has always been a way for us to come together, express our grief, celebrate our humanity and remind one another that we are not powerless.

We don’t all have to sail across the sea to make a difference. Sometimes it begins in our own communities, with an act of kindness, supporting someone in need, sharing what we have or simply refusing to become indifferent to another person’s suffering.

To everyone aboard Kate and all those involved in the Freedom Flotilla, I wish you a safe journey. May your courage and compassion continue to inspire people across the world.

May we never become so accustomed to suffering that we lose our capacity to care. And may our compassion always be greater than our fear.

From Bristol to Gaza, with love and solidarity. ❤️

Eline wanted to get involved and asked if she could record a message to ask everyone to share the fundraiser link or donate if you can.
The four of us will be walking up Pen-y-Fan barefoot, carrying an extra 30kg with the aim to raise funds for the family. everything donated goes to helping her dad, Eyad, get medical help and the family getting to safety.
Thank you to everyone who has donated or shared the link so far, we appreciate your kindness and generosity.

@save_eyads_hand is still in the same situation. Just because the news isn’t showing us doesn’t mean the madness has stopped. by @res_oner

Only a week until we make the walk up Pen-y-fan barefoot with an extra 30kg weight, in support and solidarity for my bro @save_eyads_hand
If you can share or donate it would be greatly appreciated. I feel like I’ve exhausted my followers capacity so if you can get it around and help raise some funds it would help so much. by @res_oner

We are going back to Pen-y-fan, no shoes, with 30kg. Only this time in September! I’m really trying to get the donations coming in a bit faster as Eyad and his family could be deported back to Gaza at any point. Myself @caravan_boyce and @mikeregazzoli are going to be doing the walk so please click the link in my bio to donate, or share about as much as possible.
Every little helps and will go a long way ❤️💚 by @res_oner
