Grateful ❤️ A trip of a lifetime, a dream come true. 🇮🇹Rome➡️Naples➡️Lecce➡️Ostuni. I have never taken a 2 week holiday in my 64 years, and I realize how blessed & incredibly grateful I am to have had this opportunity. After 5 months of preparation to compete in Vegas & Nationals in Pittsburgh, this was just what my biggest supporter, my hubby & I needed. We completely relaxed without any definitive itinerary, which allowed us the luxury of daily discoveries and immersing ourselves wholeheartedly into the culture and lifestyle of the beautiful Italian people. We both learned so much and came back with a greater appreciation of the world around us. Travel opens your 💗 and soul to all that’s possible in life. One of the biggest cheerleaders in our Masters Bikini & Fit Model Collective brought her own beautiful presentation to the NPC North American Championships, earning ninth place in Masters Bikini 60+ Class A!

Resa supports everyone in this community with so much love and enthusiasm. She celebrates other women wholeheartedly and makes them feel seen, encouraged, and supported. Having her in our corner is such a gift.

Thank you to the very special people who had my back during Nationals & offered me time & kindness- you know who you are, & I am so thankful for you!

My first season back at 64 years, after a 4 year break. My first show Sin City in Vegas 🥇 (the only 60+) and North American’s Nationals (no top placement), but didn’t go in with any expectations except to present my best. Coming back after a hip replacement, multiple injuries, bloating condition, there were many challenges. Experienced stage fright this season, went on stage at Nationals without ☕️ or food that morning to avoid bloating which affected my performance. This gal needs her ☕️
Butttt…… I learned a lot ( defff having my coffee next season 😂 & deffff going to compete more to get rid of the stage fright) The more you practice, the better you get!
12 years in this sport, & I love this sport with my whole 💗.

Me versus me…. Compare yourself to you, because every person has gifts to offer this world. True Beauty comes from the inside, is built over time, and I believe it’s meant to share those gifts to lift others.
Hard to believe I competed one week ago- I was blessed to share the stage with the 50 year old class these inspiring beauties @alejandra.pina.790 & @dr.enaka_yembe because I was the only 60+ (64 years) bikini babe😂-easiest 1st place won evaaa when it’s just me.
Studied up on the improvements needed for North American’s Nationals in less than 2 weeks! Diet changes, water adjustments & daily posing with Ab control focus are underway- Having SIBO medical condition is a learning process which causes severe bloating from just about anything. Sharing this only to help others know that everything may look easy on social media, but I like to be real with y’all. Us Master’s ladies that compete have some xtra challenges like skin laxity, etc. 🙄 Point is, we are ALL a work in progress, love each step of the journey & celebrate each one & everyone you meet.💗 Much love friends!

Sin City Showdown @musclecontest was such a great experience! Everyone from the staff to the judges, and @tanmasters made us competitors feel so welcomed & cared about! Thank you Tracy for creating such a warm atmosphere, and @sandyonsandylane for valuable feedback - you are both incredibly kind people. I had so much fun getting to know the beautiful competitors back stage- new friendships made are the best part of competing.
This post is more of a thank you to everyone because without all of you none of this is possible. I am thankful for the medal, & even more for all of you! We don’t get here on our own!
Thank you God for blessing me with my health, mental & physical stamina to continue to do what I love, my hubby Allen for his incredible support, my Coach @theebostonmass for his guidance & belief in me & my patient posing coach @christine_fit_ - and @gymhubboston, We are on to Nationals @npcnorthamerican in 2 weeks! Thank you to the @npc and all my family & friends for your support, it means more to me than you know.
Returning to the stage at 64 after 4 years, a hip replacement, injuries, I am incredibly grateful to be here- 14 years ago I picked up my first set of dumbbells and fell in love with bodybuilding at the first pump!💗💪

This small city gal who grew up in a tough childhood, a turbulent environment where hope was non existent. Somehow I had an incredible faith in God that gave me the strength to create my own hope, my own opportunities, and to rise above the turmoil & chaos. Bodybuilding and competing has given me hope, discipline, self confidence, patience, inner strength, resilience, happiness & accomplishment.. Strength & happiness truly come from within. You can’t buy it or get it from other people. It’s earned, built, and achieved by digging deep & putting in the work. Every single aspect of life requires it; athletic success, personal relationships, & career achievements. We can do hard things, it builds character. It’s not all glamorous, it takes real grit and Consistency. We were meant to challenge ourselves. We all have something to offer in this world. Just saying a kind 💗word to someone can change their day! There’s no benefit to judging others and criticizing. Stay in your lane, focus on your contributions. The right people will find you, you don’t need to convince others of your worth or to spend time with you, or for their attention. Believe in yourself and do what you can to help others, inspire & live authentically.
6️⃣4️⃣ this month, & stepping on stage to compete in bikini nationals after a 4 year break. I don’t possess anything magical or special, I simply put the work in & stayed the course. It’s not all about winning- sure everyone wants to, to me it’s about the journey. It’s tenacity & resilience that fuels me. Recovering from a hip replacement 1 yr. ago, various conditions & injuries, I feel grateful for my health to do this.

Aging has benefits! Just turning 64 has me reflecting. Don’t be afraid to get older, it really does have many positives. We become more discerning, we can decipher intentions, and we intuitively know who’s in our corner. It’s a sense you get, you simply just know. You embrace self acceptance, and don’t seek validation. You become non judgmental, and intolerant of criticism. Aging leads you into a desire for peace, with surrounding yourself with true authenticity & a tribe that lifts you. Aging teaches you to pour into those that pour into you. To me, kindness & hope are everything. Love, & live your life. Surround yourself with those who lift you, want to be with you, and truly accept you. Xoxo💗 by @resagiles

There is no comparison, there is only one you, and you are enough. To all my younger friends and even older ones, I hear you, social media can invite you into the comparison game, we have all been there. Not tons of benefits to aging 😂, but, hopefully comes a little wisdom and a quiet acceptance & gratitude of one’s special and unique gifts. You truly have been given all that’s needed to be amazing in life on your terms. So put the blinders on, work at not trying to compare yourself- it will hold you back from your true potential. Instead, keep your eyes on the road ahead, and keep focused on climbing to reach the best version of yourself and the success you envision.
