Margate today 💚🌊

Out supporting Rob Yates in the by-election — and what a moment it was.

But this post is about leadership.

@greenpartyzack is the kind of leader who doesn’t just show up — he stands with you. Every single person. Every campaign. Every story.

What makes him different isn’t just the vision — it’s how he makes people feel. Seen. Heard. Valued.
He remembers the journey behind the campaign, not just the headline.

And when he stands behind a candidate, you feel it — the room shifts.
The noise isn’t just louder… it’s united. Carrying the same message, the same purpose.

Because our message is clear:
The problems didn’t come in small boats — they fly above in private jets.

This is about social, racial and economic justice. And it’s leaders like Zack who are not just speaking about it — but standing firmly behind those of us fighting for it on the ground.

Despite a packed schedule, he still took the time to speak to me about education, Ofsted, and the urgent need to challenge a system that is no longer working. That commitment to detail, to listening, to pushing for real change — that’s what inspires me to stand with this vision.

There’s honestly so much more to say… and one post isn’t enough.
Some stories deserve their own space — and this is definitely one of them.

For now, just know this:
This is what people-powered leadership looks like 💚

Tomorrow Cliftonville is voting green and can’t wait to celebrate with Rob Yates

Labour and Reform rely on fear, dog-whistles, and the idea that some of us should stay quiet or grateful for space.
That our visibility is a problem.
That our voices should be managed.

I reject that.

I don’t show up in Green spaces as a footnote.
I show up fully — as a Muslim, as a hijabi, as an Indian woman — visible, confident, and unapologetic.

That’s exactly why being out campaigning in @lewishamgreens — alongside @greenpartyzack , and in solidarity with @liamshrivastava ,Natalie, Aaron, and so many others standing — matters so much. Because this is what it looks like when we don’t just oppose Labour and Reform’s rhetoric, but beat it with representation, community, and courage.

Lewisham Greens are telling a different story — one rooted in empowerment, global majority voices, and people-powered politics.

Not symbolism. Not tokenism. Real leadership shaped by lived experience. by @reshmikalam

🌍 A few weeks on, and we must not let the conversation die down.

Labour’s approval of the Jackdaw gas field is a reckless decision with consequences for our climate, our communities and future generations. The headlines may have moved on, but the climate crisis hasn’t.

From extreme heat and flooding in the UK to rising sea levels in Bangladesh, catastrophic floods in Pakistan, droughts in Senegal, desertification in Nigeria and environmental destruction in Palestine, communities worldwide are already paying the price.

🌱 Working together across local Green Party in Kent, in collaboration with Kent Muslim Greens, we are raising our voices, challenging the government and demanding a genuinely just, renewable energy future.

📢 Share this reel. Keep the conversation alive. Hold the government accountable.

The climate crisis doesn’t wait for headlines to return. Neither should we.

There’s something special about standing alongside people who inspire you. 💚✨

Always a joy to catch up with @greenpartyzack and this incredible crew. Different talents, different strengths, but a shared vision that brings us together. Every time we meet, I leave feeling inspired, recharged and reminded of why we do what we do. 🌱

Keep up the great work @greenpartyzack we all still #BackZack! by @reshmikalam

To all the Labour MPs lurking on my Instagram stories… 👀😂

I see you. You see me. We’ve all been keeping each other entertained for the last four weeks. 😂

Yes. I really have been that obsessed with this campaign.

These photos are completely random — because apparently when you spend four weeks campaigning, canvassing, organising, filming, travelling, attending events, reading Zack Polanski’s book in bed and somehow still finding time to exist outside politics… you end up documenting absolutely EVERYTHING. 😂

But honestly, this campaign has meant the world to me.

From community rooms to mosques, doorsteps to conference halls, women’s events to late-night strategy chats — I’ve met some incredible people, heard some powerful stories and been reminded again why community, representation and showing up matter.

Four weeks.
One by-election.
Countless conversations.
Very little sleep. 😂

And tomorrow is polling day.

One final day to show up, knock those doors, have those conversations, help people who need support getting to the polls and do everything we can to make sure everyone who wants to participate gets the opportunity to do so. by @reshmikalam

Community champions deserve to be at the centre of the conversation. 💚

A brilliant visit to St Pancras Community Association today with @greenpartyzack , meeting the people who are doing the everyday work of strengthening our communities.

From early years support and the Community Kitchen to the Golden Years programme and wider community activities, SPCA is creating spaces where people can connect, feel supported and thrive.

We spent time listening to the priorities and concerns coming directly from the community — and talking about what meaningful support can look like.

What stood out most? Community organisations already know what their communities need. They deserve to be heard, valued and supported.

Zack made sure their priorities were heard and that these incredible community champions are at the heart of the conversation.

Because politics shouldn’t just be about speaking to communities.
It should be about listening to them. 💚

Thank you to Melissa and the whole SPCA team for welcoming us and for everything you do for Camden. 🌱 by @reshmikalam

Brighton → Green Conference → Be a Councillor panel → St Pancras canvassing. 💚

What a day. 😂

Started by gracing the Zack 4 MP stall, beautifully put together by Ross Hanson (Bold Politics), before catching up with so many familiar faces and meeting key people across GPEW.

Loved seeing our Deputy Leader @millward_rachel grace the stage with such panache, and welcoming @ciarancuffe Co-Chair of the European Green Party, to explore the conference, meet our networks and see the brilliant work happening across GPEW.

Always a pleasure catching up with @sian_berry and CLLR Matthew Snedkar from Darlington Green — and of course our Muslim Greens brothers, including @shamsforrusholme , an absolute legend of our Exec. 💚

Then a quick dash to the Be a Councillor panel with @feslkhan @cllr_aaronregisford and Daniella Radice (chair of the event)— speaking to a brilliant room full of people from all sorts of backgrounds who are thinking about taking that leap into local government. Seeing that energy was genuinely lovely.

And because apparently one event wasn’t enough for one Saturday… 😂

Conference mode → panelist mode → campaigner mode.

Straight to St Pancras for an evening of canvassing.

Yes, the canvassing does not stop.

All I had to do was change my heels. 👠➡️👟

From panelist to campaigner — same day, same Green energy. 💚 by @reshmikalam

🌍 I’m standing for the Green Party International Committee.

I want to bring more Muslim, hijabi and Global Majority voices into international Green politics — strengthening our European ties and making issues of peace, justice and the Middle East impossible to reduce to just round-table conversations.

If you’re voting at Conference, I’d be grateful for your vote. 💚

🌱 More voices. Stronger connections. Global solidarity.

One crew. Four languages. And absolutely no shortage of banter. 🌍💚

Today was one of those campaign days that reminded me why community organising is so special. We were switching between Urdu, Bengali, Arabic and Malayalam almost effortlessly — with different cultures, backgrounds and experiences all coming together, and plenty of endless banter between me and Naser keeping the energy going. 😂

A real highlight was visiting King’s Cross Mosque. The warmth we received was genuinely lovely — and the moment they discovered I could speak Bengali, the conversation completely opened up. It was such a friendly and welcoming engagement, and a reminder of how much can happen when people feel seen and understood.

But perhaps my biggest highlight was having Fesl join us all the way from Manchester. 💚 His support for this campaign for @greenpartyzack — and his encouragement to others in his local party to come down and volunteer during these final few days — meant a lot. Politics can sometimes feel very local, but moments like this remind you that solidarity travels.

Global majority voices, different languages, one shared energy — and one very lively campaign crew. 💚

Final few days. Let’s keep the energy going. 🌱 by @reshmikalam
