A soulful trip out East- the first one on the ground on the first day of the peach season. It felt restorative, and in memoriam of a true soul friend with who I shared a platonic relationship. His legacy will live on forever.

Here is to healing and keeping with my mantra of gratitude. by @reshmiko

My milestone:

Some of my dinners over the past several days exemplify my principal goal of aiding (with the guidance of @mallorychase.nutrition) the dietetics part of anorexia recovery, by introducing nutritional variety in my diet.

Not being too repetitive with my meals, and developing more comfort with cooking, will ideally segue into the ability to no longer isolate, to travel, to heal, and be free. by @reshmiko

A native New Yorker’s birthday week:

1 - Channeling nautical summer months ahead with the shawl-collar cardigan.
2 - A never before seen installment (to me) of a portrait.
3 - Late morning hang at the famous, now on hiatus, ice rink, at The Rockefeller Center promenade. In fact, right smack dab center with the famous sculpture.
4 - The Costume Institute at The MET, first bestowed with the The MET Gala’s attendees’ presence.
5 - Indian royalty and textile ‘mulmul’- inspired fashion.
6 -Women are Warriors.
7- Because this is what I have been writing for years: fashion evoke multifaceted socioeconomic, cultural dialogue that goes beyond the zeitgeist.
8 -Speechless.
9 - My mother and I, defined.
10 - Classical.
11- Modern.
12 - The forever changing subjectivity around what a woman’s body should look like.
13-14 - The forever unchanging truth around women’s ability to produce, and to give, life.
15 - The human form.
16 - 🧿 👁️ 🧿
17 - I will never retire.
18 - A dark truth for me - the skeletal form- and its appearance to the outward world, uninhibited, dictating fashion.
19 - The growth - literal and figurative - of a fatal eating disorder disabling mobility to freely walking.
20 - Rounded out the week with a perfectly poached egg and sautéed mushroom-spinach medley, that I surprisingly, found to be a pleasant eating experience. by @reshmiko

Christmas 2025:

You guessed it; The father was throwing out the empty boxes and ripped gift-wrapping.

But after decades, a mother who lent us her Catholic traditions and love growing up, had a photo with her children taken (via timer and a phone balanced on the banister).

As adults, we all received things we needed and could use: Socks, slippers, bath robe, perfume and cologne, and knitted bonnet hats. Mom was shocked to find the special edition purse she secretly desired and I was gifted a lovely wool skirt that was very much not a need. Dad- the man, the myth, the fashionable legend, only wanted his Parfum de Marley Paris and Diptyque No. 34 colognes.

After a brisk morning walk outside with the mother who I share a complicated, almost competitive relationship with due to our relationship with exercise and food and my persistent anorexia, it was surprisingly warm inside the house that I still find difficult to call home.

Coziness was abound. And though I forgot to leave out milk and cookies for St. Nicholas, and the days leading up to the here and now, and thereafter, are likely full of stress, somehow, a spiritual divine order has made us remember the magic that once was. by @reshmiko

A Wholesome Sunday:

* Second post in a row?

I’m a Millenial who grew up in the heyday of uploading albums of photos.

———

Being my true Queens self, in the borough of my formative years, my “happy place,” with the one and only panorama of New York City in the background - the same Queens Museum exhibit I grew up seeing every year as a kid.

Grateful to @artofpunjab Kanwar Singh and his business manager, Razani Kaur, both of whom I communicated with prior to his exhibition, Journey of the Mind, to return back to my home - New York City.

Also, forever grateful for the beautiful painting of our shared Sikh history picturing Mai Bagho - the first female saint-soldier to hang in my bedroom. taken in Queens Museum by @reshmiko

Penn Homecoming 2025, and it was like I never left.

Attended the National Eating Disorders @nedanewyorkcity walk today after a few years. The solidarity and community, the increasing resources and expanding insurance coverage by providers was encouraging, and the support from my parents, which many times feels hard-earned, was present.

Being in the city I love so very much, my home, especially on a beautiful crisp fall day has me in my feels and temporarily stopped the intrusive thoughts.
