Delhi Metro stations par bane ARPAN Kendras ke zariye Dilliwale textile waste ko kam karne aur apne sheher ko zyada sustainable banane mein apna hissa nibha rahe hain.

Ye sabhi purane kapde, soft toys, undergarments, chaddar, parde, tauliye aur yahan tak ki devi-devtaon ki poshak bhi recycle ho sakte hain. Kaise?

As part of Swachhata Pakhwada 2026, the @texminindia and @mohua__india have come together to drive a dedicated Textile Waste Collection Drive across government offices and complexes in New Delhi.

Several collection bins have been set up to create a more structured way of collecting textile waste, thanks to implementation by @gats.council to support collection, weighing and reporting of the textiles gathered.

But the journey doesn’t stop at collection. The initiative also brings Delhi-NCR Self-Help Groups into the process, creating opportunities to sort, grade, upcycle and recycle collected textiles into useful products and materials.

It’s a simple idea with a larger purpose, less textile waste, more circularity, and more sustainable livelihoods. It shows how public institutions can lead by example and turn sustainability into action.

You ARPAN’d your old clothes… what happens next?

Once your clothes reach one of the following ARPAN kendras:

• Hauz Khas - Near Gate 1
• Punjabi Bagh West - Near Gate 2
• Shalimar Bagh - Near Gate 2
• Dr. Baba Saheb Ambedkar (Rohini West) - Between Gate 1 & 2
• Shahdara - Near Gate 1

They are sorted based on condition. Some are reused, some are transformed into upcycled products, while others are recycled into fibres.

And behind this entire process are women self-help groups, creating sustainable livelihood opportunities along the way.

So the next time you clean out your wardrobe, don’t let those old clothes go to waste.

ARPAN them and give them a new life.
