The Restore Human Method for strength, grace and resilience 🌿🏔

POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Real humans. Real outcomes. ❤🌲

The work we do in the gym is only part of the story.

Building strength, balance, mobility and endurance matters, but what really matters is where that capacity can take you.

Up the mountain. Along the trail. Back to an activity you love. Or somewhere you’ve never been before.

These are the moments we train for.

Progress isn’t just measured by what you can do
in the gym. It’s measured by the life your body
allows you to live. taken in Restore Human by @restorehuman

Restore Human’s methodology.🧠💪

At Restore Human, the process is collaborative. You bring your goals, your experiences and an understanding of what it feels like to live in your body. Your coach brings their knowledge, observation and expertise.

Together, we use that information to build a training approach that makes sense for you.

That means listening, asking questions, paying attention to how your body responds and making thoughtful adjustments along the way.

The best training plan isn’t simply built for you. It’s built with you. taken in Restore Human by @restorehuman

What is Restore Human? 🌲💪

For us, training has never been just about what happens inside the gym.

It’s about building a body that gives you the freedom to experience more of life. To hike the trail, ski the mountain, travel somewhere new, take on a challenge, or simply keep doing the things you love with strength and confidence.

That means building strength, mobility, balance, endurance and resilience with a thoughtful approach that meets you where you’re at and evolves with you over time.

The end goal is living a capable, adventurous life. taken in Restore Human by @restorehuman

Progress doesn’t always look like a personal best. 💪❤️

Sometimes it’s moving with less pain. Feeling more confident on uneven ground. Recovering faster after a big day outside. Or noticing that something that used to feel difficult now feels a little easier.

Those changes might not come with a medal or a new record, but they matter.

Progress is about building more capacity, confidence and resilience over time, in whatever way is meaningful to you.

The goal isn’t always to do more, sometimes it’s simply being able to keep doing what you love. taken in Restore Human by @restorehuman

What would you say yes to if you knew your body could keep up? 🌲🏔️

A last minute hike. A weekend on the slopes. A new trail. A trip you weren’t planning for.

One of the best parts of building strength, endurance, balance and resilience is having the physical capacity to take on opportunities when they come your way.

Not every adventure needs months of preparation. Sometimes you just want to be ready when someone asks, “Want to go?”

Train for the plans you’ve made and the ones you haven’t yet.

Be strong enough to say yes. by @restorehuman

Jakub grew up around world-class athletes and had always been active. Then a desk job changed things. His hip stiffened, an old shoulder blade issue flared up, and every attempt to train ended in another injury. He couldn’t even hang from a bar without pain.

For four years he tried physio and chiropractic. He spent thousands of dollars and got some short-term relief, but nothing lasted.

Master Coach Keshava didn’t go hunting for one broken part. Jakub’s body was compensating everywhere, so the answer was simple: go back to basics and learn to move well. That meant readiness, positions, control, and strength he could trust. It took Jakub a while to believe something that simple could work. Committing to it changed everything.

Twelve months later:

✅ Back lever
✅ Freestanding handstand push-up
✅ 5 bridge push-ups
✅ 405 lbs deadlift for 3 reps
✅ Running pain-free
✅ Cleared every readiness and movement standard in our system

When he started, he could complete 2 of the 5 Human 5 movement tests. Today his score rivals some of our fittest coaches.

The biggest change isn’t on that list, though. In his words: “That’s like handing someone the keys to their own body.” He learned to listen to his body, respond, and adjust without needing someone to fix him.

He didn’t just get out of pain. He got his athlete back.

If you’ve lost something you used to be able to do and nothing has worked, we’d love to talk. 📍 Kitsilano | Oak Bay taken in Restore Human by @restorehuman

What gets measured can become more meaningful. 📊💪

At Restore Human, we use metrics to help us better understand where your body is today, where there’s room to grow, and whether the work we’re doing together is actually moving you forward.

But the numbers are never the end goal.

Improving your strength, VO2 max, grip strength, balance or other measures of physical capacity matters because of what those improvements can mean outside the gym.

More confidence on the trail. More energy for the climb. More resilience when life gets demanding. More freedom to keep doing the things you love.

The metrics help us measure progress.

The meaning comes from what you’re able to do with it. taken in Restore Human by @restorehuman

How well can your body keep up with the life you want to live? ❤️🌲

VO2 max is a measure of how effectively your body can take in and use oxygen during exercise, and it can tell us a lot about your cardiovascular fitness and overall physical capacity.

But for us, the number itself is only part of the story.

A strong aerobic system can mean having the capacity to hike a little farther, climb that next hill, keep up on an adventure, and continue doing the things you love as you get older.

The good news? VO2 max is trainable.

With the right amount of cardiovascular work, strength training and consistency, we can continue building our capacity over time.

Because longevity isn’t just about adding years to your life. It’s about building a body that can keep living them. taken in Restore Human by @restorehuman

COACH SPOTLIGHT: SOPHIA💪

Sophia’s positive energy is the first thing you notice, and the reason clients keep coming back. Approachable and encouraging, she helps people build strength and confidence in their bodies, whatever their starting point.

As a Registered Kinesiologist (BCAK), she’s trained in human movement, exercise science and the habits that make progress stick. Growing up playing competitive soccer taught her the rest: clear plans, honest feedback, steady progress.

Away from the gym she’s usually out on the trails and recently hiked the Inca Trail to Machu Picchu.

What are you training for? 🌲🏔️

Maybe it’s a big climb you’ve had on your list for years. Another ski season. A cycling trip. Keeping up with your kids. Or simply feeling strong and capable enough to say yes when the next adventure comes along.

Training can look different for everyone because the life we’re preparing for looks different too.

Whatever your reason, having something meaningful to train for can make all that time spent building strength, balance, mobility and endurance feel a little more worthwhile.

The gym is where we prepare, the good stuff happens everywhere else.

So, what are you training for? taken in Restore Human by @restorehuman
