Toy Story Land with the newest Toy Story minifigures from #lego43264!!! ⭐️🚀🐄🐑

Firstly, I want to say it was a delight to see Toy Story return in Lego form for its 30th Anniversary. It’s awesome that fans of the films (especially new Lego fans!) get a chance at Lego Toy Story again. While this year’s minifigures made one minor improvement to those of 2019, sadly the repeated figures were a little bit of a letdown compared to previous releases.

Here’s a quick review of the changes below! (The figures on the right in each photo are the new 2025 versions)

Woody ⭐️ - Woody’s top half is essentially exactly the same as 2019’s release with some minor print differences. Bummer he got solid blue legs instead of the dual molded legs with brown for his boots. An unfortunate downgrade, but he still looks great!

Buzz 🚀 - the Disney Series 1 CMF Buzz from 2016 remains to be the best version all around. His chest piece in 2025 is flat (a result of using the part from 2022’s Lightyear) and not molded like before. 2019 Buzz had a face print quality issue and downgrade in design overall as he lost most of the details from lack of arm and side leg printing. For 2025, he has no Whoosh helmet thing 😕, but at least his face print returned to better quality and the lavender head is a more film accurate color!

Jessie 🐄 - like Woody, Jessie’s top half is essentially the same as her 2019 incarnation, but those legs! They axed the dual molded legs and printed her boots. What’s weird though is this big gap between them and her cowprint denims. Jessie’s cowprint actually should go down to her feet and cover most of her boots, but here it looks almost like a skirt? It’s like they meant to use a dual molded leg and decided not to last minute.

Bo Peep 🐑 - No notes!!! Classic Bo is fantastic! TS4 Bo too!! And to also have her sheep and her lamp build in the set is simply the icing on the cake! 👨‍🍳😘

Overall, I hate to complain because without prior knowledge of previous versions, these are all great minifigure designs of these characters! Either way, I’m a happy camper to have these again, especially classic Bo Peep and her girls Billy, Goat, and Gruff! 🐑🐑🐑 taken in Toy Story Land by @reubrickscube

Happy #DisneyHabitats26 Stack Day!! This year has been such a treat to share three of my biggest joys in life: Lego, Disney and Theater! 🧱🏰🎭 Each brought me so many cool people and new friends in my life. Two of them I actually first met through the Lego community, and we became closer friends through our love of Disney and Broadway! So I made sure to add Brian @__tm31__ and Sam @otter_named_roogert to the audience for my final stack!

I also expanded the stage and added a custom Elsa from @disneyonbroadway’s Frozen to represent another great Disney Theatrical production! The reference photo here from the souvenir program of Frozen’s national tour is Elsa in her fierce pants suit from Act II! ❄️👖

This is always a great time of year for me, so thank you to @habitatchallenge and Jessica @dontbrickmedown for making May so magical and hosting such a great community building event. I’m still scrolling through everyone’s magical builds and finding lots of great new builders to follow! The creativity is fantastic all around! The best word to describe it all: Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!

My second build for the awesome @brickfambuilds @trickybricks #LegoDisneyHabitats challenge is with one of my childhood favorites Peter Pan! And to tell the story of Peter Pan, one needs the Darling children so naturally I had to make some minifigure customs ( 😊 with a lot of great inspiration from the designs by @legoman36jt ). For my habitat, I chose to recreate the corner of the Darling Nursery with John’s bed! It was the most fun out of all of them bc John and Michael hung up their sheets and tied them to the bed posts to make their own pirate ship! ⚓️ It reminds me of when I was a kid and my brother and sister and I draped sheets over the bunk bed in my room to make forts, tents and castles. We always felt like the Darling Children too bc our sister was the eldest and took the role of Wendy, my older brother as John, and myself as Michael (w/ my yellow teddy Buster as Bear 🐻)

Being a Disney themed habitat week and considering I typically photograph Lego at Walt Disney World, I took my habitat into the wild at Disney’s Riviera Resort! 🏢The European Resort was inspired by Walt Disney and his wife Lillian’s famous “first” vacation since starting his company. Around every corner of the Riviera Resort are brilliant pieces of art inspired by all the Disney stories that take place in Europe. 🖼 Near the Skyliner Gondola station that connects to the parks, the Disney imagineers and artists made beautiful mosaic murals that stretch from the floor to the ceiling (and around to the other side!). The Peter Pan mural of the Darling children’s magical flight to Neverland made the perfect backdrop for my Peter Pan habitat!

Dr. Helen Marsh and Dr. Grant Seeker of the former Dino Institute of Diggs County, FL have found a new home at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City!

On a recent trip to NYC, I was able to get new photos of some of my favorite Disney Parks original character custom minifigures for the @eticket_builders minifig build challenge!

These two Disney Parks characters come from the now extinct attraction Dinosaur, one of my favorites from Disney’s Animal Kingdom. Dr. Helen Marsh is the former Institute Director who presented us with the opportunity to travel to the time of the dinosaurs via the amazing Time Rover. Dr. Grant Seeker is a heck of a paleontologist who rerouted our trip for a secret mission to the END of the Cretaceous Period to save an Iguanadon for his research. Our trip through time flirted dangerously close to the moment the asteroid hit Earth that ended the age of the dinosaurs! ☄️

After a long and arduous journey from Florida, our displaced doctors and their pet dino Carny the Carnataurus have made it to the American Museum of Natural History to curate and head up their newest exhibit! 🦖🏙️

The Time Rover MOC seen here was designed by Phil of @horizoneerdesign ! Check out his page to see more amazing theme park builds and art!

I had always planned to bring these minifigures for my NYC trip to continue their story at this museum since I knew they had quite a memorable Dinosaur wing. It was quite fortuitous during my visit to discover that they had a new exhibit all about the end of the age of the dinosaurs! ☄️😱🦕 a perfect place to continue the careers of these characters!

The team tours their new home, but Carny is not so sure about sharing space and attention with these boneheads! The museum lobby with this Dino display is quite impressive though. 🦴

Impact: The End of the Age of the Dinosaurs not only tells the story about the fateful asteroid hit, but also about the aftermath! It’s a topic I’ve never closely studied until now. I am so excited to take part in E-Ticket Builders’ first Minifig challenge!!! I actually started out in the @Lego Insta community by posting photos of my minifigures at the Disney theme parks back in 2017. Part of that journey was making custom Lego Disney character minifigures, often many of them theme park characters, like the lovable Dreamfinder and his dragon Figment from the original Journey into Imagination ride from @waltdisneyworld EPCOT Center’s Imagination Pavilion! 🌈✨💜

This is version 3.0 of my custom Dreamfinder. I photographed him in 2023 for the official Disney 100 Lego photo contest (which I realize now I never saw posts from 🤨), so here are some unused shots/video and one repost of Dreamfinder and Figment in my build of the iconic and super 1980s Rainbow Tunnel! From 1983-1998, Dreamfinder was your beloved guide through a journey into the imagination and after the ride through the Rainbow Tunnel and up to the Image Works lab! While I sadly only got to experience the original Dreamfinder attraction once, I am glad to see he survives in the memories of the guests and seems to often be honored in looking back at Disney history and through art, merchandise and fan creations!

I included a short video of #LegoDreamfinder with one of the last remaining unchanged remnants from the original Imagination Pavilion - an outdoor water garden with jumping fountains ⛲️ . This was often an area where you could meet Dreamfinder and Figment outside of the ride itself! Head over to epcotlegacy(dot)com for a fascinating history on the original Epcot Center! That’s where I found these vintage Dreamfinder and Figment photos. 📸😊

For my MOC for @eticket_builders ‘ Fantasyland Forever challenge, I built one of my most favorite things in Fantasyland at Walt Disney World: Maurice’s Amazing Popping Machine in Belle’s Village! 🌽🍿⚙️

This quirky, almost steampunky little popcorn cart first appeared on the outskirts of the castle courtyard across from the construction walls of New Fantasyland back in 2012. Being the traveling inventor that he is, Maurice journeyed with his new popping machine from his home in the hills all the way to the fair at Cinderella Castle to give guests a taste (in more ways than one!) of what was to come beyond the gates! 🍿🏰 I’ve recreated that journey in Lego form as you see Maurice and Philippe wave goodbye to Belle on their way to the Fantasyland Faire!

Once New Fantasyland opened in the end of 2012, Maurice traveled back home and set up his popping machine permanently in a corner of Belle’s Village by Bonjour Village Gifts. In building I tried my best to recreate as many details as I could from my memory and reference photos. What seems to have disappeared in photos and IRL are the barrels of ears of corn that sat by the cart, ready to be fed into the large hopper on the right side. I decided to include it in my build to add a little more splash of color. 🌽

As a theme park nerd, I have always admired this little piece of @waltdisneyimagineering storytelling with Maurice’s machine. It so perfectly bridged the two eras of Fantasyland: the original 1970s tournament tent/medieval fair of the Castle Courtyard with the 2010s Fantasyland Forest residencies beyond the castle walls. All the while using an endearing character and expanding his story to perfectly fit into the Magic Kingdom. ✨📚🏰

Special thanks to Fred and Amp, the two cast members who let me take photos of my build with the actual Maurice’s Amazing Popping Machine! It was so fun sharing with them my build of the best popcorn cart in MK! 🍿🌽🏰

Five friends from Toy Story 5! Did we need this one? No. Is Toy Story 3 still the perfect ending? Yes. Did I have a blast watching this one? YES, of course! 🤩

It was also great to have Jessie headline her own movie! I always felt Finding Dory kind of brought the fun out of Dory when they moved her from Supporting to Main, but in this instance it worked well for Jessie since we already know she has a traumatic backstory.

Happy Lego Disney✨ (and lots of other stuff) Day here at Disney Springs!!! I hope everyone got what they wanted. The store surprised me and I also got a free Millennium Falcon polybag for spending $40. Certainly met that threshold 😂 Have a magical month of June building!! ✨

🎸🎢🐸 I never pictured the Muppets getting ANOTHER attraction at Disney’s Hollywood Studios! They’ve had two in the past (both lovingly referenced in this one’s queue!), so it is so delightful to see them return back to the park once again after their flagship Muppet*Vision closed last year!

I got a chance to do a cast member preview last week and brought a few Muppet minifigs along for the ride! As a passionate Muppet fan, I am pleased to say the Disney Imagineers did a great job bringing the Muppets back in such a wonderful way while still keeping the integrity and spirit of the original Rock n Roller Coaster alive as well. Kind of like how the Muppets retold stories so well with their films in the 90s! I can’t wait to ride RNRC with the Muppets again and again! These photos just scratch the surface of what you can find in the new home for the Muppets!

Newsies 📰

Day 3 of the magical month of May for my favorite Lego Habitat build season #disneyhabitats26 with @habitatchallenge and @dontbrickmedown ! This year I’m showcasing some of my favorite Disney on Broadway @disneyonbroadway musicals reimagined through the magic of @Lego bricks ✨🧱🎭

🗞️ Newsies - a masterpiece of musical theatre! With the incredible music, creative transforming set, insane choreography, powerful story, and the TRIPLE THREAT cast to perform it all, it’s no wonder this show won two Tony Awards when it burst onto Broadway in 2012! Newsies is easily my favorite musical from Disney Theatrical and quite possibly favorite musical of all time 🤩

I did my best to capture that by building a habitat sized version of the unique NYC 🏙️ metal scaffolding/fire escape set from the show. The minifigures here are customs of Jack Kelly, Specs, and a random Newsie to round out the Lego cast. In the audience to represent the fansies we have none other than our build challenge creator Jen @brickfambuilds and this month’s wonderful host Jessica @dontbrickmedown ! 😁

I also have a few photos of minifig Specs doing the incredible newspaper choreography! When I saw the show in 2013, the “Seize the Day” musical number had me floored with its unforgettable choreo! Broadway fans will often cite other shows of having amazing choreography (e.g. The Outsiders), but to me no one has yet topped Newsies. Choreographer Christopher Gatelli totally deserved the Tony for his work!

If you scroll to the end, you’ll see a few clips from the Newsies Tony Awards performance in 2012! The amazingly talented Ryan Steele was the original Specs seen here. I’m still flabbergasted watching him do those perfectly executed pirouettes - and on top of a newspaper too! 📰 taken in Universal Studios, Streets Of New York by @reubrickscube

Mary Poppins ☂️

Day 2 of the magical month of May for my favorite Lego Habitat build season #disneyhabitats26 with @habitatchallenge and @dontbrickmedown ! This year I’m showcasing some of my favorite Disney on Broadway @disneyonbroadway musicals reimagined through the magic of @Lego bricks ✨🧱🎭

Mary Poppins is practically perfect in every way, and Mary even sings those very words when we meet her in the musical! 🎶 While much of the music is the same, the score is expanded and the lyrics and libretto are a bit different than the famous Disney film. I grew up watching the classic movie on repeat with my siblings 📼, so I was simply amazed by the Poppins story told anew for the stage by Disney Theatrical. For a while, it was my favorite musical (before Newsies) and I got to see it three times - twice on Broadway 🍎 and across the pond 🇬🇧 for its revival on the West End!

But just like the film uses movie magic, the musical utilizes plenty of theatrical stage magic! 🎭✨The most iconic magical moment is when Mary Poppins flies, though not on stage…she flies over the audience! I chose to recreate that moment for my build today! My custom minifigure of Mary Poppins flies across the house of the New Amsterdam theatre as Bert dances with his chimney sweeper across the stage. Marveling below in the audience of course had to be Mr. Walt Disney himself, along with a custom minifig of his wife Lily. Many have said Mary Poppins was Walt Disney’s crowning achievement in film, so I thought it appropriate his Lego version is here!

My Walt Disney World photo shoot location today is the United Kingdom pavilion at EPCOT! The back gardens behind the tea shop have a little street of houses that have the same vibe as Cherry Tree Lane. Inside the houses is actually a toy/gift shop that sells souvenirs themed to British Disney characters like Winnie the Pooh, 101 Dalmatians, Peter Pan, and even Mary Poppins! ☂️🏠🧸
