Day 6 - of failing to get me handwriting capture to drawing machine, via typewriter to work. Bugs all the way down, should I have used AI to fix them? taken in Daniel Catt Contemporary Printmaking by @revdancatt

Okay, so, markdown text to handwriting. Bit hard to explain this one (although I gave it a go in newsletter #93). On the left is Kitty's "handwriting", on the right is my own cursive handwriting, but encoded in software; both of these were written with the drawing machine based on plain text (markdown) input - typing goes in, generated handwriting comes out.

I've been wanting to add markdown to the system for a while now, so I can get it to do headings, underlining, bold text (which is tricky with a pen, fwiw), and strikethroughs. I didn't add italics as that seems a bit odd with cursive. taken in Daniel Catt Contemporary Printmaking by @revdancatt

Kitty (my AI PA) using my scruffy cursive handwriting (and then it's own, far neater handwriting) to write whatever markdown formatted text I send it. Not a font, actual encoded handwriting which gets generated on the fly based on text input.

I've been wanting to add bold, underlines, strikethrough and headings for a while now. taken in Daniel Catt Contemporary Printmaking by @revdancatt

Day 5 - of 'writing' on a @bantamtools drawing machine from a @qwerkywriter keyboard. Working pretty well, but still got a bug to squash. taken in Daniel Catt Contemporary Printmaking by @revdancatt

Day 4 - slow and mellow today, extract from the upcoming YouTube video, typing on a @qwerkywriter keyboard, to write on a @bantamtools drawing machine. Still got a few kinks to work out, which is all on me and my code, also; also no backspace for mistakes yet, lol 😅 by @revdancatt

Studio shot of the "battle station" for the newsletter the other week. Chaotic-neutral monitor setup, and my favorite, a filing system for index cards, envelopes and paper for Kitty to write on.

It's semi-organised! taken in Daniel Catt Contemporary Printmaking by @revdancatt

Cutting up the plots, including the plot of nodes/flow-chart set-up that was used to create the designs. Because if you can make a diagram, you can plot it, and now I'm all about PLOTTING ALL THE THINGS. taken in Daniel Catt Contemporary Printmaking by @revdancatt

Neeeeeeew project! I've been wanting to do this one for ages. I've been working with drawing machine handwriting for ages, have my own handwriting encoded (more on that soon), and kept this @qwerkywriter is storage for far too long. Time to bring all the pieces together! taken in Daniel Catt Contemporary Printmaking by @revdancatt
