Finally got stage one of the "Gallery Wall(s)" up, after not having any walls in my old. studio for far too long. Bonus final photo of a couple of prints still waiting to go up I am not a great believer in keeping things sparse or particularly level. And in this case, there's not a straight line in the whole building, so it's hard to tell what's level anyway. Lots more little spaces to fill in, probably with polaroids and postcards. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔗👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💸 Shop: shop.revdancatt.com (link in bio) 🤖 Penplot SVG tools: revdancatt.com/penplotter ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👍 Facebook @revdancatt 🐦 Twitter @revdancatt 🥰 Pinterest @revdancatt ❤️ Tumblr @revdancatt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏷👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #shropshireartist #shrewsburyartist #peopleofprint #popmembers #poster #print #printmaking #contemporaryprintmaking #shoptalk #revdancatt

The fun thing about getting post from other pen plotter artists, is sometimes you get a lovely clean pen plotted address. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I know who this one is from, and excited to open it after a few days of quarantine 😷⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔗👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💸 Shop: shop.revdancatt.com (link in bio) 🤖 Penplot SVG tools: revdancatt.com/penplotter ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👍 Facebook @revdancatt 🐦 Twitter @revdancatt 🥰 Pinterest @revdancatt ❤️ Tumblr @revdancatt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❓❓❓❓FAQ❓❓❓❓ Plotter used: AxiDraw V3/A3 penplotter From: shop.evilmadscientist.com Or: robotshop.com (buy two extra servos) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Books 📕 natureofcode.com [code] 📕 Computational Drawing: http://lostritto.com/book [inspiration] 📕 Lumen Naturae [art, science, study] ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Paper 📄 Black, smooth: Fabriano Black Black, hot pressed 📄 White, smooth: Strathmore Bristol 📄 White, rough: (any) Watercolour 300gsm, cold pressed ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pens (archival, that don't fade) 🖋 Metallic: Uni-ball UM-120NM 🖋 Fineline: Staedtler pigment liner 🖋 Fineline: Sakura Pigma Micron 🖋 TWSBI fountain pen + 🎨 Noodler's Bulletproof Ink ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏷👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #axidraw #computationaldrawing #lineart #plotter #penplotter #print #printmaking #revdancatt

Artist • @ojelibalon Via @revdancatt Lovely pen plot from ojelibalon who makes beautiful art. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I really liked this one because of how the changes in line thickness really add to the textures, but also 'cause it looks like a duck 🦆 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Slowly building up a collection of other people's work, which I'm loving. Sometimes you can get tired of looking at your own work. Then all you need to do is glance up to see there's still so much design space to be explored, and everyone has their own take on things. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏷👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #procedural #artforsale #printmaking #algorithmicart #print #shapeart #computationaldrawing #artandtechnology #art #creativecodeart #contemporaryprint #abstractogram #contemporaryprintmaking #printmaker #proceduralart #abstractgeometry #artofinsta #opticalart #penplotter #penplotterlove #linesandshapes #machinedrawing #axidraw #codeart #revdancatt

Artist: @revdancatt • • • • • • Daniel Catt Contemporary Printmaking [Already sold] The penultimate watercolour ghost, in a dashing rich blue. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This one has already sold because someone looked ahead, lol. Although "looking in the shop" isn't really looking ahead 🙂 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I have to be careful when using coloured ink that it doesn't fade. Often with watercolour inks the idea is to make an illustration or work that's immediately scanned in and the digital version used. These Ecoline inks fade far less than most other inks I've tried. Curiously this blue ink does the opposite of fading, and gets a little darker over time, chemistry, how does it work! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧾👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⏳ 52m 42s 📏 51.1m 🖋 Staedtler pigment liner 0.8mm @staedtler 🎨 Ecoline Royal Talens Watercolour Cyan/Blue (578) #ecoline 📄 A3 Bockingford watercolour 300gsm cold pressed⁣⁣ @st_cuthberts_mill 📷 FujiFilm X100F @fujifilmx_uk 🤖 AxiDraw V3/A3 pen plotter 💻 Javascript SVG @revdancatt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔗👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💸 Shop: shop.revdancatt.com 🤖 Penplot SVG tools: revdancatt.com/penplotter ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👍 Facebook @revdancatt 🐦 Twitter @revdancatt 🥰 Pinterest @revdancatt ❤️ Tumblr @revdancatt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏷👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #codeartgallery #algorithmic #proceduralart #printmaking #poster #shrewsburyartist #opticalart #creativecodeart #opart #algorithmicart #digitalcreations #codeart #print #databending #penplotterlove #artandtechnology #grafficdesign #contemporaryprint #procedural #contemporaryart #penplotter #abstractgeometry #artforsale #generativeart #machinedrawing #revdancatt

Artist • @revdancatt Absolutely loving these in-progress pen plot. My "ghost" disintegrating in the most beautiful way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I've added a couple of "filters" to my SVG generators (not live yet), which basically break up all my lines into just the starting point. But then giving that starting point a Perlin-random length and direction. Producing these lovely flow fields. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The code is still too buggy to roll out yet (the 3D transformations are a bit broken). Getting there a little bit each day, and discovering a few lovely plots along the way. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧾👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🖋 Staedtler pigment liner 0.2mm @staedtler 🎨 Staedtler pigment Black @staedtleruk 📄 A3 Bockingford watercolour 300gsm cold pressed⁣⁣ @st_cuthberts_mill 📷 FujiFilm X100F @fujifilmx_uk 🤖 AxiDraw V3/A3 pen plotter 💻 Javascript SVG @revdancatt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏷👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #abstractgeometry #digitalcreations #machinedrawing #algorithmicart #printmaking #opart #penplotterlove #geometrydesign #computationaldrawing #generativeart #axidraw #penplotter #mathart #creativecodeart #contemporaryart #sacredgeometry #popmembers #shoptalk #plotter #monoprint #lineart #generativedesign #contemporaryprintmaking #abstractogram #revdancatt

Inspired by @revdancatt work with his "Ghost" pattern and with an influence from octopus design from @samsarateahouse, I made my own version which combine these things. Artist • @revdancatt Schotterflakes, 2020. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Based on the classic of pen plotter art, the Schotter Generator by Georg Nees. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ By request, I've made the snowflakes plot more "Jaunty", but you know, a controlled jaunty, where jauntiness is a function of how far down the page the snowflake is. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🧾👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⏳ 4h 26m 📏 58.94m 🖋 Staedtler pigment liner 0.2mm @staedtler 🎨 Staedtler pigment Black @staedtleruk 📄 A3 Bockingford watercolour 300gsm cold pressed⁣⁣ @st_cuthberts_mill 🎵 Snow Dept. - Then You Know It's Christmas @epidemicsound 📷 FujiFilm X100F @fujifilmx_uk 🤖 AxiDraw V3/A3 pen plotter 💻 Javascript SVG @revdancatt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🔗👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💸 Shop: shop.revdancatt.com (link in bio) 🤖 Penplot SVG tools: revdancatt.com/penplotter ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 👍 Facebook @revdancatt 🐦 Twitter @revdancatt 🥰 Pinterest @revdancatt ❤️ Tumblr @revdancatt ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❓❓❓❓FAQ❓❓❓❓ Plotter used: AxiDraw V3/A3 penplotter From: shop.evilmadscientist.com Or: robotshop.com (buy two extra servos) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Books 📕 natureofcode.com [code] 📕 Computational Drawing: http://lostritto.com/book [inspiration] 📕 Lumen Naturae [art, science, study] ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Paper 📄 Black, smooth: Fabriano Black Black, hot pressed 📄 White, smooth: Strathmore Bristol 📄 White, rough: (any) Watercolour 300gsm, cold pressed ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pens (archival, that don't fade) 🖋 Metallic: Uni-ball UM-120NM 🖋 Fineline: Staedtler pigment liner 🖋 Fineline: Sakura Pigma Micron 🖋 TWSBI fountain pen + 🎨 Noodler's Bulletproof Ink ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🏷👇 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ #lineart #monoprint #digitalcreations #geometryart #penplotter #databending #geometricdrawing #shropshireartist #penplotterlove #art #artandtechnology #axidraw #shrewsburyartist #mathart #computationaldrawing #popmembers #contemporaryart #artofinsta #algorithmicart #generativeart #printmaking #printmaker #machinedrawing #grafficdesign #generative #creativecodeart #revdancatt

Imagine creating art, using algorithms written on the computer... 🖥️ One of my fav parts of my job is learning about the new, deeply fascinating and unexpected ways of creating art. Recently, I had the pleasure of digging into Dan @revdancatt's pen plotting practice and my little nerdy heart just fell in love with everything he does (and the way his 🧠 works!) Manipulating code to watch it evolve and breed unique shapes and then watching them come to life using pen on paper with a machine. Oh my. 🤯 Read more about Dan's in his bio here (written by moi!): https://members.peopleofprint.com/profile/revdancatt/ Learn more about the art of pen plotting in a new article, coming soon. 📸@revdancatt
