Founded by Bentley Zylstra, a young but remarkably driven storyteller based in the Sawtooth Mountains of Sun Valley, Idaho, Revelry Collection is a beautifully crafted coffee table magazine dedicated to adventure, exploration, and the outdoors. What began as a passion project has quickly grown into something special bringing together a community of film photographers, writers, and explorers who share a deep appreciation for life beyond the everyday.

The debut issue sold out quickly, a testament to both the quality of the storytelling and the calibre of its contributors, which included renowned creatives such as Alex Strohl, Isaac Johnston, Taylor Burk, and Lawson Chapman. Each page captures not just destinations, but the spirit of adventure itself.

Now, with Volume 002, the magazine continues to push further, featuring stories that span the globe, from backpacking in Washington’s Alpine Lakes Wilderness to surfing in Nova Scotia, hut skiing in France, and ice fishing in Colorado. It’s a collection that invites you to slow down, immerse yourself, and reconnect with the natural world.

Flylab Interview: Bentley Zylstra

“In the age of AI, it has become more and more important to our team and to our readers that these stories are indeed real. No one wants to read great writing that has no soul. Film photography helps with this goal, because it’s really hard to fake film photos. I love the look of film photography. It sounds like a cliché, but I love the imperfections; I love the light leaks, the dust and the weird depth of field. The world has become too picture-perfect. I yearn for a workshop filled with dust, for a drive down a dirt road, or for a small town sign that says, ‘Come back soon!’ Everyone wants the world to become more automated. I want it to be more local and more handmade. At the end of the day, film photography is just a part of that narrative that we carry here at Revelry to slow down and get your body outside…”

First two weeks of college. What a ride.

I like making these photo journals to look back on what I have done. A lot of time we just look towards the future, which is great, but we never take the time to appreciate what we have done.

And apparently from looking at my photos, I have done alot of surfing the past two weeks.

After four months of hard work, our new website is now LIVE and the opportunity to become a member of Revelry Collection is here!

This website is a huge upgrade from our previous one with a beautiful new design and improved functionality. In addition to being the only place where you can become a member of the magazine, you can also learn more about Revelry Collection’s founding story, our contributors, and preview select stories from inside the pages of magazine.
