Core memory 🔐💜🖤

Joshua and I went to see the Ravens play at the Benz!

Truthfully, there was a moment when I wasn’t sure we’d be able to make it happen. But God worked it out. And I’m so glad He did.

Me and my oldest son. Just the two of us.

The game was amazing. But the time we spent together was worth so much more.

As your children get older, you start to realize just how fast time moves. The days are long, but the years are flying by. And every moment matters.

What surprised me most was something I didn’t expect. The number of elders at the stadium who stopped to applaud me for being there with my son. Just a father spending time with his boy.

That stayed with me.

Because Black fathers ARE present. We ARE involved. We ARE making memories, showing up, and loving our children out loud.

And as Joshua gets older, I pray he’ll hold on to these moments. Not just the touchdowns or the excitement of the game, but the time we spent together.

Because I know I will.

Lord knows I’ll never let go of these memories. Or him. 💜

It’s after midnight, and I should be asleep. But I’m too excited about what God is doing at Freedom Church ATL!

Last Sunday, we faced technical challenges at every turn. This Sunday, we’re walking in with our OWN audio and video equipment!

Only God could do this! And we’re just getting started!

Meet us for worship tomorrow at 9:30 AM. I believe God has something special in store!

GOD IS FAITHFUL! 🙌🏾

And when I tell you God has been blowing our minds at Freedom Church ATL, I mean it!

This week started with some unexpected challenges. Equipment issues, obstacles, and some real moments where we had to trust God for what we needed.

But look at God!

We put out a call to our Freedom family, ministry partners, and friends to help us purchase the equipment we’ve been renting each Sunday.

And because of your generosity, we’ve already been able to secure much of what we need!

To every person who gave, prayed, shared, or encouraged us—THANK YOU!

We started this church with faith, a vision, and a willingness to trust God. And week after week, He’s been showing us that He’s faithful.

We’re not quite finished yet! There are still a few pieces of equipment we need to purchase, and we’d love for you to help us finish strong.

HELP US BUILD FREEDOM!

One day, we’re going to tell the whole story. But for now, just know this…

GOD IS DOING EXCEEDINGLY AND ABUNDANTLY!

And this Sunday, we’re going to give Him a special praise!

A church year is the prayerfully discerned and disciplined ordering of everything we do around what God is calling the church to become and accomplish.

Notice two words in that sentence: prayerfully and disciplined.

In fifty years of pastoring, I learned that vision rarely fails because the vision was wrong. It fails because nothing in the year was built to carry it.

Ministries ask for dates. Old traditions get penciled back in. Events get added because “we always do it.” And before long, the calendar is leading the church instead of the vision leading the calendar.

In Developing Your Church Year, we slow down and do the work together.

We listen for God. We listen to the congregation. We listen to the community.

Then we bring your leadership into alignment and put the vision on the calendar.

Four live online sessions begin Monday, November 2. We close with a two-day working retreat in Baltimore, December 7–8, where your year gets built.

You leave with more than a theme. You leave with a plan.

Your calendar is already preaching.

If someone studied your church calendar and never read your vision statement, what would they believe God is calling your church to become?

That question is bigger than dates.

It’s about whether your preaching, ministries, leadership, major moments, and priorities are actually moving in the same direction.

That’s why I’m bringing together another group of pastors for Developing Your Church Year.

And this time, I want to be clear: Senior Pastors, Executive Pastors, and Associate Pastors who carry responsibility for shaping and executing the ministry year—this room is for you.

We’ll begin with four live online sessions starting Monday, November 2.

Then December 7–8, we’ll gather in the Baltimore area for two days of working together.

Not just talking about the year.

We’re going to build it.

Swipe through and see what you’ll leave with. →

Comment YEAR and my team will send you the details.

You can’t move forward while letting yesterday make today’s decisions.

Yesterday may explain some things about you, but it doesn’t get to determine what happens next.

There’s grace for what’s behind you.

There’s growth in what you do next.

And there’s still something ahead worth pressing toward.

FORWARD // Week 2: STILL PRESSING
Philippians 3:12–14

Don’t stop here. Keep pressing.

Comment FORWARD and we’ll send you the full message.

Okay pastors… using AI to put ourselves behind the mic rapping that slightly (okay… not so slightly 😅) inappropriate song was fun.

But now let's put AI to WORK.

Because AI can do a whole lot more for your ministry than help you go viral rapping lyrics you probably shouldn't be saying from any mic. 😅

You're already spending hours praying, studying, preparing and preaching every week.

That ONE sermon can become:
→ Reels
→ Social posts
→ Emails
→ Devotionals
→ Quotes
→ Bible study content
→ …and more.

You don't need to create more content.

You need a system to MULTIPLY what you're already creating.

That's why I created Preach Once, Publish Everywhere.

📲 Comment MULTIPLY and I'll send you the link.
