🔥 Resistance is necessary. But persistence? Persistence is an art! And persistence is how we build a future beyond the systems we’re fighting today.

❤️‍🩹 This regime wants us exhausted, isolated, and focused only on the immediate struggles. But the vision we’re fighting for is bigger than this moment, this march, or this administration. The long game is about what we will build…together!

✊🏽 That’s why we need places and spaces to dream bigger, learn from one another, strengthen our movements, and imagine what comes next.

🎟️ Join us at Freedom Rising Conference on October 23-25 in New York City or online. And if you’re an activist, organizer, student, or artist, please send us a DM or email us at conference (at) middlechurch (dot) org and we will send you a special discount code.

🎉 We’re do grateful to our friend and partner, @revmicahb from @judsonchurchnyc, for this incredible word recorded at last year’s conference.

🐶😻🦜 BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS 🦜😻🐶
SUN OCT 11 @ 11am
with Rev. Micah Bucey @revmicahb
Judson Meeting Room + judson.org/worship

This Sunday, October 11, Judson's 11am service will expand its already extravagant menagerie welcome by inviting non-human animals to join us, so feel free to bring your favorite animal companion to bless the space and to be blessed.

For everyone, especially those unable to bring a pet companion or those who have lost a beloved pet, there will be a table ready for photos and equipped with paper and crayons to help create images of all of the animals who have touched our lives.

There will also be a section reserved for those who would like to stay as far away as possible from our visiting pet friends, so please join, even if being side-by-side with a non-human friend isn't exactly your cup of tea.

And if you’re joining online, bring your pets or a photo to the screen with you!

For questions, email Micah at mailto:micah@judson.org

🌟 PROPHET MARGINS 🌟
SUN OCT 4 @ 11am
with Rev. Micah Bucey @revmicahb
Judson Meeting Room + judson.org/worship

This Agape Sunday, we'll gather around the communion table again and ask ourselves what spaces, gaps, and horizons we might be avoiding, individually and collectively, as Micah facilitates a deep dive into "Prophet Margins," those places that call us to action over avoidance, especially when we feel at our most lost. If you've got some food or drink to share, the table will be ready to receive you and your gifts.

Show Up For Trans Youth Protest
10.01.26 | New York Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center - 525 East 68th Street (Lenox Hill, Manhattan, New York)

Recently, major hospitals across the tri-state have reached a deal with both the Department of Justice and the Trump Administration to end gender affirming programs after they were scared of losing federal funding if they opposed against the Administration. On top of that hospitals have also agreed to stop surgeries for Trans youth and refuses to give them hormones but have agreed to pay for children who are "detransition".

Demonstrators picketed outside New York Presbyterian/ Weill Cornell Medical Center to protest against the hospitals settlement with the DOJ and the dangers and severity it has on trans youth but now and in the future. Speakers included Qween Jean, Peppermint, Tatiana Cruz and other members of the trans community that are fighting for trans youth and their rights. by @revmicahb

What an incredible turnout today at NY Presbyterian! Trans activists, faith leaders & families united when our communities are under attack.

Our fights are interconnected. They can try to intimidate us into silence, but baby, we will NOT take this lying down.

These are our demands: RESTART CARE.
MEET WITH IMPACTED FAMILIES.
APOLOGIZE FOR ABANDONING THEM.

We will keep picketing NYU Langone, Mount Sinai, NY Presbyterian & any hospital that abandons its patients until our demands are met. ✊🏳️‍⚧️

Thank you @genderlib, @actupny and to all those who came out to show support!

OCTOBER QUEER SPIRIT @ JUDSON | 👻 QUEERING JEST 👻 | *TUESDAY* 10/6 @ 7pm on Zoom | Link in Bio + Stories!

October brings us into the part of the year where the nights grow longer, and the border between the sacred, the otherworldly, and perhaps… the ridiculous… becomes a little more porous. We’ve just come through the Harvest Moon, and for those rituals following celestial bodies this month opens with the final days of Sukkot, followed by Shemini Atzeret and Simchat Torah—a season where we construct ritual and scripture. Later in the month, Navratri and Durga Puja invite us into stories and rituals of transformation, divine play, and the struggle against forces that diminish life. And then, at the month’s end, we come to Samhain, Halloween, and our longstanding human practice of making contact with what usually stays hidden. This month, as we Queer Jest, we trouble what those traditions may already know: how play is not the opposite of seriousness. Sometimes levity, jokes, masks, costumes, or deliberately ridiculous gestures give us access to truths we cannot reach by solemnity alone. What does jest’s queering allow us to reveal, practice, or refuse? What becomes possible when we are given permission to be excessive, unserious, or otherwise outside the roles we usually inhabit? And if the space of play is temporary, what might we carry back with us when the costume comes off? Join our hosts @revmicahb and @trans.rites on October 6 for this month’s hour of queered lectio zoom divina: sacred text and music from wherever curiosity, creativity, and serious play have wrestled with our themes. You are welcome, in whatever mask you choose to wear… or remove…for the occasion!

And here’s a reminder for our upcoming themes:Join us TUESDAYS, November 3 for Queering Kin and December 1 for Queering Labor! #QueerSpirit #SeriousPlay #SpookySeason

🏳️‍🌈 How cool to be featured in @gaycitynews with @revmicahb about an interfaith & queer wedding we co-officiated! We can never have too many reminders of how much more binds us together than divides us—and that our differences should bring us closer, not tear us apart.

A favorite experience…and one for the books! ✡️✝️

ACT UP! FIGHT BACK! FIGHT AIDS!

As per the ACT UP Policy: You attend one meeting. You go to one action. You are an ACT UP member.

I announce on the bullhorn as we are now in a bit of Standoff with the Port Authority Police and the NYPD.

The Port Authority Police offer to kettle us in with barricades; provide us with one of those Free Speech Zones.

Upon this offer, we sit down in front of all Six Revolving Doors at the Southern Entrance of 1 World Trade Center.

We chant. And chant and chant for 90 minutes. Passing the bullhorn amongst our collective. Throwing different tones on our chants. A comrade does a silly coo of the sorts to lure Brendan Carr.

I shuffle between the groups— folks are throwing around ideas of how to escalate, or if we should march off. My TRUMP IS A WAR CRIMINAL Arrest at the UN from yesterday morning is hitting me… and I know it’s hitting my comrade who is gloriously laid back into one of the revolving doors.

My ACT UP Comrades summon me over. We should take the North Bound Lanes of the West Side Highway.
It’s right there— they say with ease. We look over our shoulders.

I do the shuffle to the groups again— everyone’s down. I alert our comrades who have been fulfilling the many other roles needed for a successful Nonviolent Civil Disobedience.

Can’t wait. A Climate Comrade smiles.

We get up. We are on the move, again. We walk the fifty feet from 1 WTC to the West Side Highway.

We wait for the crosswalk sign to change. We deploy, again. We hold the traffic.

NEWSWEEK IS HOSTING AN AI IN HEALTH SUMMIT ON THE 72ND FLOOR!

BRENDAN CARR THE CEO OF MOUNT SINAI IS ONE OF THIER KEYNOTE SPEAKERS!

We get arrested.

The same NYPD Officer who arrested me yesterday pulls up with a smile. I smile back and nod. Looks like I’m going to be your Arresting Officer again today.

At one point yesterday, he encouraged me to—
Do My Thing.

The Nineteen Arrestees and Our Comrades Chant:

PALANTIR OUT—
OF IMMIGRATION!

PALANTIR OUT—
OF OUR GOVERNMENT!

PALANTIR OUT—
OF OUR HEALTHCARE!

PALANTIR OUT—
OF MOUNT SINAI!
