Zachary Nunn shared one of the most insightful thoughts about Call and Response that I've heard yet in media and podcast interviews on a recent episode of Living Corporate.

This book unapologetically centers exactly what many people are now afraid to say--a single word.

Whole organizations have changed their focus, stripped the word from their names, de-emphasized, stricken it from usage because, well, it can get you into trouble, fined or something.

Not here.

And to all to entities and leaders who have thrown their names, weight, budget and influence behind this book...I can say, it's easier to stand up and be bold when you're not alone when you stand.

Many people and entities have retreated.

I just don't see what that has to do with me; after all, what kind of leadership authority would I be if I wasn't also courageous?

Good leadership is good leadership no matter where it comes from.

And as my GenZ daughter would say, "PERIOD." 🤏🏼 by @revnunnwisdom

Studies in positive psychology show that one certain way to find your purpose is to serve people. Through that service, you will tap into empathy which will place you firmly on your path to finding your passion.

Next stop: PURPOSE.

This is the hallmark of a heart-centered leader, and we all know one when we have the rare chance to be lead by one.

Heather Dowdy is one of those leaders, and she was fortunate because she found her purpose at at very young age in the Black Church; and when you find it young, the motivation and drive to pursue that purpose is unrelenting, according to the research.

I shared a bit of her story recently on Living Corporate with Zachary Nunn as she shares it in my new book Call and Response.
