🐻🌲🍂 NOW CASTING: BEAR 🍂🌲🐻

The filmmakers behind BEAR and Casting Director Andrew Hunter @rewhunter are officially seeking submissions for an upcoming SAG-AFTRA Micro Budget short film.

A photographer nearing the end of an artist residency in rural Montana is caught off guard by the surprise arrival of her devoted boyfriend. As the two reconnect in the wilderness, they find themselves at a quiet crossroads in love, identity, and the future they imagined together.

💌 Comment “BEAR” below and we’ll send you the link to submit.

📍 Centennial Valley, Montana
📅 Shoots September 25–27, 2026
🎬 SAG-AFTRA Micro Budget
🎥 Travel & Lodging Provided
💵 $300/day Guaranteed

CANYON
Woman, 25–35, All Ethnicities
A New York City photographer near the end of an artist’s residency in rural Montana. Intelligent and creatively ambitious. She is a quietly internal soul who finds herself at a spiritual crossroads. Canyon loves Alex genuinely but finds herself moving away from him and disconnected. Physically she should feel at home in a landscape, in love with the wild wilderness. You believe she would carry a large format camera up a mountain alone simply for the love of the game.
LEAD 📸

ALEX
Man, Early to Mid 30s, All Ethnicities
Canyon’s partner, who has surprised her by showing up at the residency unannounced. Alex is warm, devoted, and quietly devastating in his sincerity. His faith in Canyon, in their relationship, in things working out, is total. He’s not naive. He loves her enough to keep showing up even when part of him already knows. Should feel like someone you root for even as you understand why she can’t choose him.

Fantastic Fest was a dream festival for Scissors, and we’re so glad it was our Texas premiere. We partied, stayed up too late, made new friends, and watched some great films. We can’t wait to come back. ✂️🖤

This is me👆

Look at this team. 11 people from the cast and crew flew from ATL to Austin to celebrate two sold out showings.

Had so much fun putting the BOOK CLUB cast together for Bite Sized Terror on @tubi. Every single one of these actors absolutely kills it. They bring writer/director @hannahalline’s wonderfully dark and hilarious vision to life just as I imagined it.

Get ready for spooky season. You’ve never seen a book club quite like this one. 📚🔪🎃 taken in Atlanta, Georgia. by @rewhuntercasting

Thank you all for showing up for Dementium.

When I moved to Atlanta 10 years ago, I spent my first five years here focused entirely on acting. Then, five years ago, I was asked to come on and produce and cast this indie feature.

It was the biggest undertaking I’d ever been a part of. I wore at least a dozen different hats and found out very quickly just how difficult producing a feature film is, especially during a pandemic.

But I also don’t know that I’d be casting today if it weren’t for this film, and I definitely wouldn’t have learned as much about producing as quickly as I did.

Five years later, I’m casting and producing full time, and I couldn’t love it more.

To finally premiere Dementium in Atlanta to a SOLD OUT theater was incredibly special.

Thank you to everyone who showed up. Thank you for selling this thing out. Thank you for supporting this film and the people who made it. And thank you to everyone who continues to support independent filmmaking here in Georgia.

I can’t wait to make more things with all of you. taken in Plaza Atlanta by @rewhuntercasting

@slamdancegroup 2026. This one hurts to miss. I had the honor of casting on this pilot for @victoria_blade and now it’s playing Slamdance which is just… wow. These are the projects you hope to be part of. My heart is in that theater even if I’m not. So proud of everyone who brought this to life. Here’s to meeting up at another festival this year. First showing is sold out so grab your tickets! taken in Los Angeles, California by @rewhuntercasting

Having both Deuce Purgatory and Scissors at the @psfilmfest meant more than I can explain. There may never be another time I get to experience a festival with two films while serving as both a producer and an actor on each (even if you don’t see me in Scissors.) It was an incredible privilege.

Palm Springs has been on Mallory’s and my bucket list since we met 12 years ago, so getting to finally experience it together made the week even more special.

Both late night blocks sold out, and the audiences were amazing.
To everyone who came up after the screenings to talk with us about the films, thank you. Those conversations are what make festivals so special, and I’ll never forget the warmth and enthusiasm you showed us.
