Hello!!! I just made an upcoming gig post that I can pin but because I’m so disorganised the first one is tonight! That being said I’m genuinely so stoked!!

Going to be playing a good mix of like dnb / jungle & maaaaybe a bit of cheeky footwork tonight! I’m after @clexane.dnb who’s a bit of a liquid & rollers master so I’m excited for!!

Thank you so much @hyperfix.crew for having me on. Also did anyone see @clickbaitdj at p&b? What. A. Set.

I’m so happy to be on support for @azalehmusic I’ve been thinking about this set so much, like there’s so many of my friends tracks I’m able to play including some of my own tracks, of what I call like “landscape bass”. I was trying to describe echo map to someone and that came out so I guess that’s what I’m calling it now, but there’s so many of my favourite producers who fall under this category. Basically “bass music that gives me a sense of place”, but not in like a hauntilogical sense.

Wow I probably come across as so wanky 😅. Anyway the whole gig will be full of fantastic music! Thank you so much @hyperbloomau & @sickest.house for having me on!!! Look out as well for some new @whatisfalkone music too!!

Finally I’m so happy to be repping @delightlabel for games week during pax!! So if you want a nice fun space as break from the ultra hectic crowds this will be a fun one!! Full of amazing music and people, I have come with an arsenal of my favourite tracks while playing Zelda / shiny hunting (look I have a playlist ok) / genres created by the internet and ngl the lack of twilight princess representation has only furthered my fuel to create even more TP remixes. (Seriously though best music in Zelda, fight me in the comments). by @rexthebard

Alright I’m incredibly bad at social media so I tried to use words and pictures. That being said my teen self who lived on a diet of chilled cow mixes would be screaming. Thank you SO much to @hyperbloomau & @sickest.house for having me on.

Anyway I’m so, SO excited for Saturday!!! Please check out @azalehmusic even if you can’t make it. I had one of the best times going through his back catalogue; I always tend to miss out on singles (normally I just go for albums or in cases like A Deeper Blue, just repeat again and again not venturing out 😅). So many tracks are living in my playlists now.

Also his Studio mix has got such a fantastic journey that builds really nicely into dnb. Then his Dnb has some of the best liquid selections! (I am a little biased cause there were a fair few of my favorite tracks in there haha)!

I’ll also get to play a bunch of new music that I kinda haven’t been game to play out before ahaha. by @rexthebard

First off want to say a huge happy birthday to @aaronstatic ! And share a photo from his set from p&b!!!

Trying to get over my social media anxiety and was going to do a story but felt like maybe it was more useful as a post for a quick Lightroom tip / colour tip cause I know a few people mentioned they’re learning grading & colour!

However though learning davinchi it’s made me way more aware of Lightrooms pipelines & sharing a cool fix?! (Like I was pretty familiar with order of operations & how to “break” certain aspects to get the colours I want, but figured maybe it’d be useful to someone)

So this was the image in camera, which VERY blue lighting, all blue and all red are generally the hardest to deal with imo (red my protip is just make it black and white), but I wanted to get some skin tones back as Aaron is not a Smurf.

As you can see I forced the white balance, I also did the trick of adding in the opposite colour (orange) in the grading section to counter balance it. That made Aaron look more zombie, as one thing I noticed if you do that the lips tend to turn blue (I forgot to get a screenshot) and it doesn’t behave exactly the way I want. HSL / colour mixer also tends to cause banding so I generally fuck that off, and with camera calibration I can get stuff usable but in this instance I couldn’t get the separation I wanted.

Because it’s clipped I was able to decrease the amount of cyan & increase the amount of red, then also adding back in the blue and yellow. (Probs should have shown all 3 curves but this was supposed to be quick tip for me writing this 😂)

Extra info:
If you’re using DaVinci or photoshop, on photoshop you can use channels which is the most useful thing or davinci i downloaded a free dctl that does a similar thing (you can also do the trick where you set the colours to linear instead of their algorithm and make sure your using global, but sometimes that’s not enough)

Needs fact checking but:
But I’ve found curves way too fiddly for mass operations cause I’m incredibly all over the place for shooting and often find curves too fiddly, but! Because tone curves come AFTER exposure in Lightroom’s order of operation, as long by @rexthebard

The worldwide tour of Sickest House X begins with modesty. 🥀

For our opening chapter in Melbourne, Sickest House and Hyperbloom are connecting to create something neither collective would approach quite the same way alone.

This is not simply a lineup collaboration. It is a meeting of sound, curation, people and perspective, bringing two communities together inside an intimate, social environment built around the music.

The evening's deepest focus is Azaleh, taking the room through an extended two hour sound journey that moves between Future Garage, Wave, Deep Bass, Hypnotic rhythms and elevated electronic beats. ✴

Rather than locking into a single genre, the journey is designed to shift and transform as it moves. The support lineup follows that same philosophy, each artist bringing their own perspective while contributing to the movement of the room.

kTraps, Falkone and Rex The Bard have been selected not simply as individual acts, but as part of a broader sonic progression that leads naturally toward Azaleh's extended journey. The intention is not simply to present artists. It is to build a night around the relationship between them.

Alright second tune on the EP let’s goooo!!! I feel like I overcooked the visualiser but whatever 😂. It’s fine. I’ll stick to my phone apps until I can master davinci or at least get appropriate colour spaces 😂.

This song I made while working in the same room as @staycdnb (who’s the absolute best) after we were watching bachelor in paradise and I wanted to make a backing track for Cam (who wore leopard prints & rapped). He also liked taking long sad beach walks!

I might do a making of this track cause apart from bass mistakes which @strafednb fixed in his master (thank you kindly!) but it’s kinda hilariously unhinged. I thought it’d be funny if I used whale noises 😂. by @rexthebard

Alright!!! It’s not long now til release drops (Friday eeeee). The first track is a smooth liquid track- I’ll make a making of post since no one reads reel captions but essentially I really wanted that laid back liquid track and spent a lot of time trying to figure out the bass groove. Started as a joke to myself about liquid / drum and bass discords but ended up loving the result even if it’s not the best thing in the world. I tried 😅 by @rexthebard
