First day of Grade 4. 🤯

And somehow, the first day of his last year at this school.

I swear his first day of kindergarten was about a week and a half ago. Now he’s walking into Grade 4, getting bigger, more independent, and reminding me just how ridiculously fast this whole parenting thing goes.

You hear “the days are long but the years are short” a million times… and then suddenly you’re standing there taking this picture and realizing exactly what everyone meant.

Pretty damn proud of this kid and the little man he’s becoming.

Life looks a little different these days.

There was a time when I could disappear for days with a fly rod in hand. Now, between coaching, running businesses, building new projects, and family, those windows are a lot fewer and farther between.

But maybe that’s what makes them even better.

A few quiet hours on the water are enough to reset the mind, appreciate where life is at, and remember that sometimes the best moments aren’t the longest ones—they’re the ones you make time for when the opportunity presents itself.

Happy Mother’s Day to the woman who does it all with more love, patience, care, and strength than anyone sees behind the scenes.

You are the most incredible mom, partner, role model, and step-mom. The way you show up every single day; with love, support, fun, kindness, and a heart that never quits — does not go unnoticed.

Being a step-mom isn’t always easy, and too often the love, sacrifice, and effort that goes into it doesn’t get the recognition it deserves. But I hope today reminds you just how appreciated and valued you truly are.

The kids are lucky to have you. I’m lucky to have you. And our family is better because of everything you give to it.

NZ has always been a special place for me. A home away from home. This year my tie to this beautiful country became even stronger. I took a knee on the day we arrived and I asked @alison2tall to change her last name one last time. Then, near the end of the trip, we got to sneak away one evening to capture some truly amazing engagement photos. Thank you @anjabarugh for knowing where to go and capturing so many incredible images. Also thank you for allowing us to just be our goofy awkward selves, those are the photos I’ll cherish forever.
