Recently finished spray work to this very clean looking S style guitar. The body was sprayed in a vintage white colour with a high gloss modern 2k top coat and the neck had a smooth clean satin. My customer supplied all new hardware which was fitted once the spray work was completed.

Finished some months ago now, this Feline Lion DropTop was sprayed with a purple burst on the front face, with the sides and back getting the usually mahogany style tint. All top coated in a modern high gloss 2k finish. Another beauty! 🔥

Recently completed artwork done to this left handed Ibanez body. My customer had a similar JMP style artwork done some years ago by a friend, but was never overly happy with it. So he brought it to me to give it a full strip and respray.

Now all top coated in a modern 2k high gloss finish to give it the factory finish that it didn’t get the first time around. All looking great! 🔥

A finished custom body build for a returning customer. Last year I made a custom neck using timber supplied directly from a customer. He was very pleased with the neck, but didn’t like the body he had for it to go on. So he reached out a few months ago and asked if I’d be able to make a body to go with the neck.

As with the neck build, I was supplied body timber that the customer had purchased, which was Japanese Cedar. After some carful and slow machining, the custom body was made. The sanding process took some time! as the timber was very soft to work with. But after a new solid cream pickguard was made to finish the process, the project was all complete.

Back onto some fret work. Some nice custom neck builds going through at the moment! A fair few are for trade customers and I’m unable to show the finished results, at the moment.. So for now, just a sneak peak at the fingerboards!

This ones a bit different from the norm! My customer asked for a polka dot spray job, but with a light blue colour instead of the usual black that is normally seen. I was also asked to spray the back of the body a plain white. Definitely gave me a challenge this one and it was nice to finally have it all sprayed and sorted!

Now on its way back to the customer, who was very happy with the photos I sent him. 🙂

Towards the end of 2025 I was asked to collaborate on a Telecaster style build to celebrate a special big birthday. James at @homeoftonejames asked if I could help with a project to make a custom neck and take care of the spray work for this birthday gift for his dad. The end result are something quite spectacular. 🔥

I made a conversion neck ( 24.75” scale ) from high grade flamed maple, complete with a black grade ebony fingerboard. The body ( that James took care of ) was made from Honduras mahogany with a high grade flamed maple top. Both the neck and body were then sprayed in a modern high gloss lacquer finish.

Once James received the body and neck back, he got to work and built the guitar ready to present to his dad. I’m told his dad was extremely pleased with it! 🎸

Recently completed spray work to this custom Strat style body and headstock for @stormshadowguitarworks

This is a metallic candy colour with a silver undercoat. First time using this particular blue colour. Came out great!

Another custom neck build getting ready for some fret work. Made from slab sawn maple, with an Indian rosewood fingerboard and some nicely rounded block inlays! 👀

Recently completed spray work to this Strat style body. It may be a standard colour, but there’s not much better than a good candy apple red. 🎸

Recently completed spray work done to this Strat body. Someone had previously resprayed the body in a silver metallic, but it wasn’t looking overly great. Possibly sprayed too thick. So I was given the job of stripping it all back to bare wood and applying a silver metal flake finish. All top coated in a high gloss durable lacquer.

At RF Custom, we specialise in flake spraying, so if this takes your fancy, get in touch for a quote. 🎸
