After months of work, it’s finally handover day for Oli @bruh_its.oli

Thank you so much for the commission of the 3 builds. It truly means the world.

3 different guitars, each with their challenges, but all destined to deliver the biggest and heaviest down tuned riffs on the planet.

A massive thank you to @rfcustomuk for the machining of the Richlite fingerboards. A perfect job for 3 matching resin inlays.

It was time for the first string change on the HoT10th celebratory build (which was gifted to my old man, and built to specs inspired by him). Great to spend some time with it, see how well it’s settling and give it a little clean over. He’s trying a set of the brilliant @labellastrings Pure Vintage 10-46 strings this time around, and the pure nickel round cores certainly seemed to suit it from the first few notes so let’s see how it goes with more dedicated play time 🫶🏼

When the admin dust settles, I’m really keen to try and get some demos recorded of this, as the @mcnellypickups Stagger Swagger / T-Bar combo is just 🤌🏼

2025, what a year! As always, thank you if you have picked up one of my guitars through one of my official dealers, or have ordered direct and are on my ever growing waiting list! A project that has provided many a smile since its inception back in the early summer. Created partially to celebrate 10 years since starting the Home of Tone, and partially to gift to someone whom inspired me to pick up a guitar in the first place, my Dad.
As such, the specs and styles were completely inspired by him. Combining visual aspects of the PRS guitars he’s always greatly admired but were always out of reach, with the super flamey maple, natural exposed edge binding and top stain colour inspired by their amber finish. Specs that more closely resemble his lifetime love of Gibson’s, with a 24.75” scale, 12” radius fingerboard and a mahogany body. Then finally, in the Telecaster style that has always interested him but not quite hit the mark due to scale and other general little spec details.
The build was a surprise for him, so I had plenty of time to sort my parts of the build, organise the outsourced elements and complete my final assembly. Importantly, do it to the highest standard possible, whilst fitting it in alongside one of my busiest years for setup/mod bookings.
I’m writing up some articles for the blog sharing the build, part 1 is now live, where I make the body. Then the next parts will share the beautiful work Rob at @rfcustomuk carried out for me, and continue on from there so hopefully have those posted soon to share.
