A special moment at the @rogergracieacademy in London, as His Majesty King Charles visited to learn more about the incredible work being done with REORG in how Jiu-Jitsu has been playing a major role in supporting military veterans.

It was inspiring to see the attention given to how BJJ has become a key part of REORG’s mission, helping veterans rebuild confidence, structure, and community through training.

Jiu-Jitsu continues to grow far beyond sport and at @reorgcharity it’s making a real impact where it matters most. taken in London, United Kingdom by @rga.association

A belt means something because the standard behind it is clear.

The @ibjjf grading system gives every student, coach and academy the same reference point: minimum ages, time at each belt, black belt degrees and a separate path for kids aged 4 to 15.

Followed properly, it works for everyone:

▪️Students know what the next belt asks of them, and trust that it is earned.

▪️Kids get frequent, age appropriate milestones that keep them motivated.

▪️Coaches promote with confidence and give clear answers to students and parents.

▪️Academies build trust, and their belts are recognised wherever members train or compete.

Swipe through for the full breakdown for adults and kids.

Earn it. Protect it. The right way.

◾️Based on the IBJJF General System of Graduation (June 2025). Figures are IBJJF minimums. Promotion remains the decision of the professor.

Jiu Jitsu gives kids more than a hobby.

Every class builds confidence through small wins. They learn to listen, focus and do things right. They learn to shake hands first and show respect. They get stronger, more balanced and more coordinated. They learn to stay calm when things get hard and work their way out. And they make friends for life along the way.

Skills for the mat. Lessons for life.

Why the uniform matters at Roger Gracie Association 🥋

Our mission is to share the gentle art of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and that starts the moment you step onto the mats. The uniform is a big part of it.

Respect:

Putting on a clean gi and tying your belt is how you show respect for the art, your coaches, your training partners and the academy you represent.

Equality:

In a uniform, it doesn’t matter what you do outside the academy. Everyone is a student, and only the belt tells the story of the work you’ve put in.

Hygiene and safety:

A fresh gi or rashguard every class protects everyone you train with. Uniforms also have no zips, pockets or loose fabric to catch fingers and toes.

Better Jiu Jitsu:

The gi teaches grips, control and patience. It makes you rely on technique, not strength, which builds the fundamentals our system is based on. As Roger says, “Jiu Jitsu is simple. You just have to do it right.”

No-Gi has a standard too:

A clean rashguard and shorts, no T-shirts or loose kit. Same respect, same discipline.

Belonging:

Across the Association, your uniform connects you to every academy and every student who shares the same values.

Show up. Suit up. Train well.
