“The lines are fallen unto me in pleasant places; yea, I have a goodly heritage.” Psalm 16:6 🤎

Orúkọ mi ni Omidan Adeleke Adetola Adebola.
Ọmọ Oba ni mi — ẹ sì lè pè mí ní Àtòkè.

I am a young lady of many dreams, many ambitions, and many names.

To my paternal grandfather, I am Ajálá — the traveller, because I once told him I would travel the world.

To my maternal grandfather, I am Double Princess, because that is my honour, regardless.

To my paternal grandmother, I am Ẹbíolúwa, because I am God’s own.

To my maternal grandmother, I am Adetola, because she says my name is not just a name, but an household name.

To my mother, I am Mọ́rẹ́nikẹ́jì, because I am a helper.

To Temi, I am Princess, because that is who I am.

To my coursemates and lecturers, I am Àtòkè, because I am a community leader.

And to the world, I am ÀtòkèÒkínjẹ́sùOG - ẹ̀mí ni ọmọ Grandpa tó ń jẹ Àtòkè Òkín.

So many names.
So many stories.
So many people who have called out different parts of who I am.

But beyond every name, I know who I am.

I am a lady helped by God.
Honoured by Him.
Loved by Him.
Carried by Him.
Exalted by Him.

I do not know what the future holds, but I know the One who holds it.

And perhaps that is enough.

For the God who has brought me this far will surely take me farther.

“For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased.” Proverbs 9:11

Here’s to another year of becoming.
Another year of dreams.
Another year of grace.

The Pantheon.

Built nearly two thousand years ago, in the heart of Rome.

Its vast concrete dome has endured empires, centuries and countless generations. Still standing as a quiet testament to what human hands can create.

Some structures shelter people.

Others shelter history.

The Pantheon is both.

A reminder that when craftsmanship meets time, a building can become immortal.

Mapo Hall.

A monument etched into the skyline of Ibadan, and a quiet witness to nearly a century of history.

Built between 1925 and 1929, its imposing arches, towering columns and enduring concrete have stood through generations, long after the hands that built it were gone.

But some buildings become more than structures.

They become landmarks of memory.
Places where a city recognizes itself.
Architecture that outlives its makers and continues to tell the story of a people.

Nearly a century later, Mapo Hall still stands.

A reminder that when craftsmanship meets time, concrete can become heritage.
