dear diary,
i saw mamma mia on broadway and i won’t shut up about it. everyone who knows me, knows that mamma mia is an integral part of my being. it makes up some of the parts of my soul i cherish the most. it is intertwined with my whole life and i carry it with me everywhere. every week i used to watch the dvd of that movie growing up & every week i would see the same ad for the broadway musical, promising myself that one day i’d see it. i did it. wow this is such a bucket list moment. and to be able to look over and see my best friend’s face & hold her hand while sobbing through ‘slipping through my fingers’ was the most special moment of it all. she’s the first person i ever watched the movie with, some 17 years ago. and wherever we were in life, whether we needed a shoulder to cry on, needed to celebrate something or just dance it out with your bff - we turned to that movie, that story and those songs. they have been the soundtrack to every chapter of our lives and to be able to experience this together will be a core memory i’ll play on my death bed. i could talk about the importance of mamma mia in my life, about how it started my love for musical theater and how it got me through so much for days but i’ll end it with this: standing calmly at the cross roads, no desire to run, there’s no hurry anymore when all is said and done!@mammamianorthamerica taken in New York, New York by @rhea.ku
