🇵🇭🇺🇸 SHE CARRIED HER ROOTS ACROSS OCEANS. AND BUILT SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL. Filipino American History Month | October 2026 Some dreams begin far from where they eventually grow. As a Filipina immigrant, nurse practitioner, and founder of Rhij Aesthetics, I never imagined that my journey would lead me to building something of my own here in Iowa. Rhij Aesthetics is more than a business to me. It is a reflection of the values I grew up with in the Philippines - hard work, compassion, humility, and malasakit, the genuine desire to care for others. This Filipino American History Month, I am reminded of why representation matters. I hope that somewhere, another Filipina, another immigrant, or another young woman with a dream sees this journey and realizes that she belongs in spaces she once only imagined. Not because my story is extraordinary, but because so many of us carry dreams bigger than the circumstances we started with. There is still so much to learn, so much to build, and so much to be grateful for. If this little dream from the Philippines can encourage someone else to take that first step, then it already means more than I ever imagined.
