🇵🇭🇺🇸 SHE CARRIED HER ROOTS ACROSS OCEANS. AND BUILT SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL.

Filipino American History Month | October 2026

Some dreams begin far from where they eventually grow.

As a Filipina immigrant, nurse practitioner, and founder of Rhij Aesthetics, I never imagined that my journey would lead me to building something of my own here in Iowa.

Rhij Aesthetics is more than a business to me. It is a reflection of the values I grew up with in the Philippines - hard work, compassion, humility, and malasakit, the genuine desire to care for others.

This Filipino American History Month, I am reminded of why representation matters.

I hope that somewhere, another Filipina, another immigrant, or another young woman with a dream sees this journey and realizes that she belongs in spaces she once only imagined.

Not because my story is extraordinary, but because so many of us carry dreams bigger than the circumstances we started with.

There is still so much to learn, so much to build, and so much to be grateful for.

If this little dream from the Philippines can encourage someone else to take that first step, then it already means more than I ever imagined.

May we never forget where we came from, and may we always leave room for others to rise. 🤎

With love and gratitude,
Rhij

So excited to receive this gift featuring their skincare line and start incorporating these into my routine! Inside: their Cucumber Daily Cleanser, Brightening Face Serum, Hydrating Face Moisturizer, and Advanced Eye Serum 🌿

I love discovering local Iowa brands, and I’m especially excited to see how these work for my skin over the next few weeks. Stay tuned for my thoughts after I’ve had some time to really try everything 🫶🏼

Sometimes I get so busy thinking about what’s next that I forget to look at how far I’ve already come. 🥹

So grateful for what I’ve been able to build, the people I’ve been able to care for, and every person who trusted and supported Rhij Aesthetics along the way.

Still growing.
Still learning.
Still dreaming bigger.
But today, just grateful. ❤️
